Repairs on or disposal of the linear motor
Make repairs on or dispose of the linear motor appropriately after fully understanding the
following matters.
1.
You are prohibited to remove or disassemble the linear motor on your own.
Using a special jig, trained personnel have to disassemble or dispose of the linear motor.
Please entrust to a waste disposal expert or contact us.
Precautions
• The stator produces the attractive force, which the mover lacks.
•
The attractive force generated by the stator (permanent magnet) is 2,200N for X-axis and
5,600N for Y-axis. It is strong enough.
Once one stator is stuck to another or a thick steel sheet, they cannot be detached from
each other easily.
•
A magnetic body (e.g. tool, jig, or bolt), such as iron, or a device, including a watch,
cellular phone, or magnetic card, should be kept 40 mm away from the linear motor.
Failure to do so can result in serious injury when the stator attracts the magnetic body and
then your finger or hand is caught between them.
Also, the strong magnetic force may damage the watch or the cellular phone and destroy
the data on the magnetic card.
2. Submit copies of this page and the next page to a waste disposal
expert when disposing.
When disposing of the linear motor, the waste disposal expert has to be informed of the disposal
procedures to prevent a waste disposal accident.
Some waste disposal experts may not handle the disposal of linear motors. In such a case,
please contact us.

Safely dispose of the linear motor after fully understanding the following matters.
1.
Procedures for removing and disposal of the linear motor
1) To prevent fire, remove combustible materials, such as resin parts or wirings, near the linear motor
before you apply heat to the linear motor.
2) Demagnetize the linear motor.
Evenly apply heat to the surface of the linear motor’s stator (permanent magnet) with an acetylene
gas burner for more than five minutes, with the surface temperature kept at approximately 1,000°C.
3) Confirm that the magnetic force is reduced.
Confirm that the magnetic force is 10 mT or less, or check to see whether the steel scale is not
strongly attracted.
4) After confirming that it has been demagnetized, dispose of it as industrial waste.
2.

Structure and high magnetic force of the linear motor
Understand the structure of the linear motor to prevent an accident.
The structure may differ slightly from one model to another, but basically it is the same in each
model.

Guidelines on using the machine
1. The machine, LNB, and NPM-DGS are the equipment to be connected
to LAN.
Use them on your company’s LAN (intranet).
2. Do not reveal the equipment-operating passwords to others.
3. When sending the PC for LNB, NPM-DGS, etc. to a repair shop or
disposing of it, pull out the hard disk or format the hard disk
beforehand.
4. If you used an SD card in the case of emergency operation due to
network troubles, delete its contents when normal operation is
resumed.
∗
Failure to comply could result in the leakage of user ID, password, and your production data to a
malicious outsider.
∗
The information recorded in an SD card may not be completely deleted through the basic
function of the operating system. Therefore, you are recommended to use commercial software
for complete deletion.
The machine refers to the NPM machine main body.
LNB is a relay system connecting the machine and NPM-DGS.
NPM-DGS refers to the production-data generation system.
For information about how to remove a hard disk from your computer or initialize a hard
disk, refer to its instruction manual or contact the manufacturer.
