Chapter 6 TroubleshootingPart 6
6. Troubleshooting
If an error occurs that does not apply to any of the errors listed in the previous
2 chapters and the cause of which is uncertain, then in order to formulate a
countermeasure, it is important to obtain details of the contents of the process
at the time of the error.
This chapter explains the special method of analysis when this type of trouble
occurs.
A program counter trace list is required to analyze the causes of the trouble.
The method of obtaining a printout of this trace list is explained below.
Procedure:
(1) Open the door of Control Box 2 on the machine.
(2) Find the left-most VME board, and on that board find the connector with
"Printer" next to it.
(3) Connect the printer cable of the MCS 30 printer to this connector.
(4) Turn on the printer.
(5) When the CPU is running, do the following. Hold down the rapid inching
key [F] and axis selection key [3]. With these keys held down, press the
axis selection key [1]. Release the keys when the printer starts.
Note: Do not lean over the rear fence to operate the machine from the rear
operation panel. A fence alarm in the trace list will erase important
command trace information.
When there is an OS error or the CPU is not running, turn off the power to
the machine and while pressing the [CYCLE STOP] button, turn on the
power again. Release the [CYCLE STOP] button when the printer starts.
Note: After getting the printout please contact Fuji. The trace list buffer has a
fixed capacity so if another operation is carried out after the error has
occurred, the process that lead to the error may not remain in the buffer.
Also, if something is written in the memory buffer it may not be possible to
analyze the problem.
