7.1 Production Schedule Approval With EDM
Production Schedule Approval With EDM
In an EDM or EDMn scenario, the behavior of SIPLACE Material Setup Assistant changes for the ap
-
proval of production schedules.
After approval in the Order Manager, the EDM master pushes the recipes of the production schedules
to the EDM client.
During this data push, a dialog box is displayed that shows the transfer progress.

If the data push is completed, the recipes of the production schedules are entered into the SIPLACE Line
Control GUI. See also "5.5 System Status after Production Schedule Approval" [ ➙ 197].
Downloads are reported back to the SIPLACE Material Setup Assistant. Thereby, the production order
of the downloaded recipe is set to In Work and the production order that is in work at this point in time is
completed.

EDM Data Update Confirmation by the User
If the Request user confirmation option is activated in the Factory Explorer under Central Settings =>
Application Settings => Production Line => EDM Settings, the EDM Data Update Confirmation by the
User dialog box is displayed before the data push.

► Check the data and, at a desired point in time, confirm with Accept, to perform the data push.

A mixed operation with S and X feeders in a line is possible in SIPLACE Material Setup Assistant. How
-
ever, a different workflow is necessary because the S feeders cannot signal the material reuse to the
AFP.
Procedure
The procedure is valid from that point in time at which the material is to be moved from the line to the
presetup area.
► In ASM Material Manager, manually assign all packaging units of the relevant S tables to the AFP
hardware in the corresponding presetup area.
► Wait until the next planning run of the system is completed for this line. For example, you can force
a planning run by downloading a recipe of the following setup that was planned in the SIPLACE Ma
-
terial Setup Assistant to the line in question. After the planning is completed, the Recalculate material
reuse status for the relevant packaging units has been replaced by a valid one.
► In ASM Material Manager, use the packaging unit overview in Material Management => Packaging
Units to exclude the packaging units that are required for the material reuse. See also "6.4 Picking
Material in ASM Material Manager" [ ➙ 231].
► Store these packaging units with the feeders in a suitable place in the presetup area.
► Tear down the packaging units that are not required and put these into the warehouse.
