Requirements for Installation
Be sure to fulfill the following requirements for safety purposes.
Overvoltage Category : Category III
Pollution Degree : 3
z Overvoltage Categories refer to the level of Impulse Withstand Voltage protection
provided at the specified Pollution Degree.
Category III : Primary circuits of a device to which power is directly
supplied from the power distribution panel, and circuits from
the distribution panel to outlets.
The term was changed from "Installation Category" to "Overvoltage
Category".
z "Pollution Degree" is a degree of pollution severity.
Pollution Degree 3: Conductive pollution or dry nonconductive pollution
that becomes conductive due to condensation occurs.
To be found in industrial environment or construction
sites (harsh environments).

Safety Precautions
Precautionary Measures before Installation
If the machine is installed in unsatisfactory environmental conditions, it may malfunction
due to damage or breakdown.
To avoid this, make preparations to install the machine as follows.
z Select a place solid enough to support the mass of the machine.
It is recommended that the machine should be installed on the first floor.
z Avoid any place that vibrates severely.
z The ambient temperatures must be 20±10°C and humidity 30 to 80%. Any dew
condensation must be avoided.
When the machine is transferred to another place and the ambient temperature rises more
than the surface of the machine, dew may condense under the condition described below.
Note that dew condensation may cause the machine to break down.
Condition of Dew Condensation
Dew may condense when the difference (based on "Humidity (%)") between the ambient
temperature of the destination (the place where the machine was transferred) and the
surface temperature of the machine reaches the values or more in the table below.
Humidity (%) of Destination
Differences between Ambient Temperature
of Destination and Surface Temperature of Machine
80 3 °C or more
70 6 °C or more
60 8 °C or more
50 10 °C or more
40 14 °C or more
30 18 °C or more
