6.26 Supported Placement Heads
The station software supports the C&P12, C&P20A and Twin Head placement heads on the DX-
series placement machines. The DX1 placement machine is delivered with one of these placement
heads optionally. The DX2 placement machine is delivered with the optional placement head
configurations C&P12/C&P12, Twin Head/C&P12, C&P12/C&P20 or C&P20A/C&P20A. The DX4
placement machine is delivered with the C&P20A placement head (4x).
6.26.1 C&P12 Placement Head
Detailed information on the new C&P12 placement head (service positions, nozzle changer
configurations etc.) can be found in the User Manual to SX1/SX2 and DX1/DX2 (as of 705).
6.27 Conveyor Types for DX-Series
Analog to the conveyor for the SX1/SX2 placement machines, the conveyor for the DX1/DX2
placement machines consists of the following three sections: input section, placement section and
output section.
The conveyor for the DX4 placement machine consists of the following five sections: input section,
placement section 1, intermediate section, placement section 2 and output section.
For the DX-series placement machines solely the single lane conveyor is supported. The fixed rail
of the single lane conveyor can be mechanically mounted at several positions. Other features, such
as transporting boards, width adjustment, loading boards into the input section via the GUI are
identical to the conveyor types for the SX-series.
6.28 Support of Long Boards on DX4
The Long Board option is supported for the DX-series placement machines in the same way as for
the SX-series placement machines but up to 550mm length, see section 6.4.
6.29 DX-Table for DX-Series
The DX-table consists of a part that is fixed installed in the machine and has the same mechanical
interfaces as the changeover table and is screwed together with the machine frame as well. The
upper part of the table can be removed from the machine.
Just every second slot is equipped with an EDIF interface (EDIF = Electronic Design Interchange
Format). Thus, feeders may only be placed on the odd track numbers between 1 and 60 and no
even track numbers are displayed on the GUI.

6.30 Flexible Usage of Feeder Types
As of this station software version some feeder types can be flexibly used without changing the
setup in SIPLACE Pro. After a feeder type change the machine can immediately start picking up
again.
The following feeder type pair is supported for flexible usage:
2x8mm X-feeder 8mm X-feeder
The Status display X-feeders topic has been completed accordingly in the online help of the
station software.
6.31 Enhancement of SIPLACE Smart GUI
The SIPLACE Smart GUI has been enhanced as follows:
Optimized assistance after pick-up failure.
New icon Waiting for PCB
This icon is displayed, if the machine waits for a board.
New stopwatch board counter function
With this function it is possible to measure the number of produced boards in a given period of
time. A stopwatch counter and the period of time, since the measurement was started are
displayed.
The function can be started via the Stopwatch board counter button and stopped via the
Reset button in the GUI settings view.
6.32 SST38 PCB Camera Replaced by SST30
The SST30 PCB camera now covers the entire functionality of the SST38 PCB camera. Thus, it is
possible to measure 01005 components without any restrictions with the SST30 PCB camera as of
this station software version.

6.33 Improved traveling range measurement
In this station software version, the traveling range measurement has been improved. For this
reason, you are advised to recalibrate the traveling ranges during installation of the station
software.

7.1 SX1/SX2 V2 Placement Machine
The station software supports the new SX1/SX2 V2 placement machine (with one or two gantries)
in one-computer operation. The SX1/SX2 V2 placement machine only differs slightly from the
SX1/SX2 placement machine:
Support of the new SX V2 PCB conveyor system.
Calibration part holder at another position and consequently also the zero point.
7.2 DX4 Dual Placement Machine
The station software supports the new DX4 Dual placement machine with dual lane conveyor in
one-computer operation. The DX4 Dual placement machine only differs slightly from the SX4
placement machine:
Head configuration with C&P20 placement heads only.
7.3 SX V2 Conveyor System
A new SX V2 conveyor system has been introduced for the SX1/SX2 V2 placement machine.
SX V2 consists of the input, processing and output sections and supports single and dual lane
conveyor.
Fixed and flexible conveyor rails and such properties as width adjustment, moving the board into
the machine etc. are, for the most part, identical to the existing conveyor system for the SX1/SX2
placement machine.
The maximum board length without the Long Board option is 450 mm and 610 mm with this
option. The maximum board width results from the fixed rail position and the conveyor mode (dual
or dual as single). The maximum board thickness is 6.5mm.
Light barriers are installed at fixed positions as stoppers for the board in the conveyor system: one
light barrier per conveyor segment (input conveyor, processing area, output conveyor and, if
applicable, intermediate conveyor). Optionally, an additional light barrier may be installed for the
Long Board option.
There are no mechanical stopper and no overlapping mapping.
