NZ-Axis
Objective:
Given a CP-7-series machine, technical
documentation and required tools,
remove, replace and calibrate the NZ-
motor to FUJI specifications.

6.1 Replacing the NZ-Motor
The NZ-motor (refer to figure below) situated at the rear of the cam box is
responsible for controlling the part pickup height. A pickup height offset may be
added for those parts which require higher accuracy such as 0603 resistors. This
pick-up height offset function is only used when a setting is made in the Assembly
Shape Library’s “Offset Z” under the “Process” section.
Any failure of the NZ-axis may result in misspicks when placing very small
components.
Some examples of possible reasons for recalibration are:
- When poor pickup results are observed when using the offset function.
- After replacement of the NZ-motor.
