3.1 Replacing the D-Axis Motor
The D-motors (refer to figure below) are responsible for moving the pallets, loaded
with feeders, to the left and right at the rear of the machine. This allows the parts
to be carried to the supply position and picked up at station 1.
A poorly adjusted or problematic D-axis will result in pickup offset in the left and
right direction. Recalibration of the D-axis is needed to eradicate this problem.
• Damage or slippage of the coupling that connects the D-motor and the D-axis ball
screw.
• After replacing the D-motor
• After replacing the OT sensors, etc.

to the motor (D1).
3. Disconnect both electrical connections to the motor.
4. Remove the two (2) Phillips head screws securing the cover over the
coupling, and take off the cover.
5. Loosen the coupling on the motor side to separate the motor from the
ball screw (refer to the figure below).
6. Disconnect the two (2) electrical connections from the motor.
7. Remove the two (2) allen extension bolts (bottom) and the two (2) allen
bolts (top) securing the motor to the machine and then remove the
motor.
