8.1 Parts Cameras
These CCD cameras are mounted on the machine for inspection of the parts picked
at the first station. The raw image is captured by the cameras and compared with
part related data in part data to ensure that the part’s dimensions (within specified
tolerances) are correct (refer to the figure below).
Problems arising from an incorrectly positioned/calibrated camera include
uniformly displaced parts, high error rate due to problems occurring during image
acquisition, and uniformly skewed parts.
Recalibration of the parts cameras is needed to correct the above mentioned
problems. Some examples of possible reasons for calibration are:
- lens replacement
- camera replacement

8.1.1 Parts Camera Removal
Procedure:
1. With the machine powered OFF, remove the video cables from the
cameras as shown below.
2. Remove the four (4) CCD mounting bolts from the right hand side of the
bracket and carefully remove the cameras.
3. Remove the lens assembly from the CCD module using the appropriate
size allen wrench.
