7. The following display appears on the screen:
- ’TEACH’ CAMERA INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE LEFT IMPRESSION
TEACHING IS ON, ’END’ TO FINISH
Performance of the action (analogous to point 4 above): Teach the camera so it is centered above the
left impression press the "END" button on the teach panel the new and old values for "CAMERA
NOZZLE OFFSET" and "ADHESIVE NEEDLE OFFSET" are displayed and transferred to the MA-Data of
the work diskette after "RETURN" has been pressedthe PCB is conveyed to the output conveyor.
Remove the PCB from the output conveyor, the main menu is displayed. Select "STORING".
8. Now remove (= before glass mapping is carried out!) the MA-zero point insert (K-N-L)! The two adhesive
cartridges are not to be installed yet! = precautionary measure to protect the glass mapping plate!.
Thereafter continue the Routine Check with the menu option "glass mapping" (see section 8.5).
8.8 AXES MOVEMENT MENU
This menu only serves for testing purposes, error isolation and the adjustment of the X / Y-axes.
When carrying out the Routine Check, this menu is only required if a deviation > 2 counts was obtained du-
ring the initially performed axis adjustment (see "CHECK AXIS ADJUSTMENT").
All details regarding the use of the AXES MOVEMENT MENU are contained in the description of this
menu option in section 5.1.20.
Look up all safety instructions applicable during the performance of this menu in section 2.3!
8.9 I/O MENU
This menu is only selected for testing purposes and error isolation.
Skip this menu option when carrying out the Routine Check.
All details regarding the use of the I/O MENU are contained in the description of this menu option in section
5.1.21.
Read the safety instructions contained in section 2.4 prior to the execution of this menu option.
In particular, take heed of the WARNING in section 2.4 upon the concurrent setting of outputs!

DANGER OF ACCIDENT / DANGER OF CRASH
For the performance of the following activities you must be familiar with the contents of chapter 2 "Safety".
Within the traversing range of the component table an
increased danger of accident
exists! In this con-
nection we wish to point out again that the keyswitch must on no account be unlocked (not in service
position) during the performance of the measuring routine "TRACK MEASURING MENU" ! The traver-
sing range of the component table (feeder parts 1 to 3) must be completely free of any obstacles!
Relating to the procedure:
The functional sequence of the Routine Check on MS-1xx machines is for the most part identical to that of
HS-180 machines (chapter 7). The procedure for MS-1xx machines is therefore described in condensed
form, the differences are highlighted in the following text.
Further important information is contained in the description of the menu options in section 5.3.
As is the case on the HS-180 the "ANGLE OFFSET D-AXIS" must have already been determined before
the "NOZZLE MENU" procedure is carried out (see section 9.14).
For the determination of "min. and max. X/Y-travel paths" and "checking adhesive station zero point" no
AutoCal measuring routines are offered. Carry out these activities in accordance with the instructions con-
tained in this chapter.
After the AutoCal procedure the "Final Work After Calibration" must be performed proceeding as descri-
bed for MS-1xx machines in section 10.3.
1. Ensure that the requirements for the program start are fulfilled (see section 4.4.2 "Checklist MS-1xx:.........",
2. Start the AutoCal program from hard disk/diskette (section 4.2.6) the machine selection menu appears
(section 1.4.1) select correct machine type, as for example:
"Test MS 102 (ICOS 2 Q)
At this point the program performs a check as to whether the required files are available, errorfree and
compatible with the selected SW version. In the case of an error, the following message appears:
"MA_ZUSATZ NOT FOUND" (e.g. upon initial calibration) or
"SELECTED SW VERSION DOES NOT CORRESPOND TO MA_DATEI VERSION".
Further procedure: Reset computer (see section 11.2) if necessary, copy missing file onto hard disk
restart AutoCal program select correct machine type (SW version).
3. After compatibility has been established, the following display appears (for complete text see page 7-2):
WARNING
THIS PROGRAM ...............!"
4. From this point onwards, proceed exactly as described from this "WARNING" on page 7-2 onwards
and observe the following:
When "Z AXIS/HEAD IN UPPER POSITION?" is displayed, the visual inspection of the position of the
Z-axis must be performed and the query must be answered correctly (!) (function key YES / NO).

9.1 EDIT MENU
The EDIT MENU is to be called up at the following stages during the execution of the AutoCal program:
Upon starting
the AutoCal measuring sequence, after responding to the screen query "
Z AXIS IN UPPER
POSITION?"
(see page 7-2, point 5) with
NO
, to correct the zero point correction of the head axes.
After
changing
the MA-zero point correction values (see section 9.3) to enter the subsequently manually
determined "MIN. AND MAX. X/Y-AXIS TRAVEL RANGES" for details on the procedure see section
9.4
.
Proceed as described for the HS-180 in section
7.1 "EDIT MENU"
.
9.2 CHECK AXIS ADJUSTMENT
Carry out the procedure as describe for the HS-180 in section
7.2
.
9.3 DETERMINE PROCESS RANGE OF X/Y AXES
1.
Select "DETERMINE PROCESS RANGE OF X/Y AXES". The placement head is positioned
above the PCB conveying range (= free space in downward direction) and the following screen display appears:
DETERMINE PROCESS RANGE OF X/Y AXES
2.
Subsequently the minimum and max. Z-traversing path is measured and displayed:
MAXIMAL Z-POSITION +1313 Digits
MINIMAL Z-POSITION -13 Digits
PRESS <RETURN>
Check the following:
The "MAX. Z-AXIS TRAVEL PATH" must be
at least +1296 counts (= 30 mm)
!!
3.
Confirm in any case with "RETURN". The values determined are transferred to the MA-Data and
the main menu is displayed.
If the max. Z-axis traversing path determined was +1296 counts, continue the Routine Check with the
next menu option.
If, however, the max. Z-axis traversing path was
< +1296 counts
( < 30 mm), the AutoCal procedure is
to be terminated now and troubleshooting on the placement head is to be performed.
Possible causes:
Sluggishness of the sleeve / Z-axis: See "Special Service Instructions, 30 mm Placement Head".
Incorrect sleeve height / zero point correction: See Service Manual MS-102 / 132, chap. 9.
Thereafter restart the AutoCal program sequence and repeat the Routine Check, starting with "CHECK
AXIS ADJUSTMENT".
If the machine data are not yet complete, this could result in the following error message:
"ERROR: TRAVEL RANGE EXCEEDING OF Z-AXIS: 0 < 500 < 400".
Further procedure:
Press "Return" display of the main menu select EDIT MENU "Increa-
se travel range of Z-axis" repeat the measurement.
