NOTE Detai led ins truc tions f or the det ermina tion of th e head co rrect ion values are con tained i n the Serv ice Manu al HS-180, "29 mm Placement Head" or in t he Service Manual "30mm Placement Head…

Nozzle changer is activated: display relating to the nozzle changer → placement head moves to the service position:
THIS MACHINE IS EQUIPPED WITH A NOZZLE CHANGER.
PLEASE REPLACE ADAPTER FOR VACUUM NOZZLE BY ...........
etc.
• Performance of the action displayed:
Open protective cover → remove nozzle insert → install steel nozzle → close protective cover →
switch on control unit → Press "START" button → display of the main menu (see Fig. 1.2) → continue
with "MEASURING MACHINE ZERO POSITION", see section 7.3.
7.1 EDIT MENU
The EDIT MENU is to be called up at the following stages during the execution of the AutoCal program:
➤ Upon starting the AutoCal measuring sequence, after responding to the screen query "Z-AXIS IN UPPER PO-
SITION/ HEAD IN UPPER POSITION ?" (see above, point 5) with NO, to correct the zero point correction
values of the head axes.
➤ After changing the MA-zero point correction values (see section 7.3) to enter the subsequently manually
determined "MIN. AND MAX. X/Y-AXIS TRAVEL RANGES" → for details on the procedure see section 7.4.
7.1.1 General Procedure
1. From the main menu select the "EDIT MENU". The submenu is displayed, Fig. 1.3.
2. Select the menu item whose MA-data you wish to change or view.
3. Select "STORING", if necessary, to transfer the new values to the MA_DATEI of the work diskette.
4. After changing the axis data perform the reference run based on the AXIS INIT menu.
Take heed of the following "WARNING".
7.1.2 Procedure for the Zero Point Correction of the Head Axes (Short Form)
WARNING
∆
!
∆
!
DANGER OF PLACEMENT HEAD CRASH!
In the case of individual initialization, the displayed sequence: H => Z ! => D => X =>Y must be observed!
Sequence of activities in short form:
EDIT MENU => select axis to be adjusted => zero point correction of this axis to be set to "0" in the MA-Data
=> AXES-INIT-MENU => initialize axis => check LED zero pulse => precisely adjust cam disk (= opening in-
stant of the jaws) => read value off axis controller card => return to the EDIT MENU => enter value including
sign => End => initialize axis (perform reference run using the new correction values):
When so doing pay attention to the sequence: H => Z ! => D => X => Y (see WARNING, above!) => check
modified zero point correction => check position of Z-axis in the reference point! => select "STORING".

NOTE
Detailed instructions for the determination of the head correction values are contained in the Service Manual
HS-180, "29 mm Placement Head" or in the Service Manual "30mm Placement Head on HS-180".
➤ Within the scope of the routine checks, the next check to be performed is the menu option "CHECK AXIS
ADJUSTMENT".
7.2 Checking the Axis Adjustment
This menu option should always be performed
before
"MEASURE MACHINE ZERO POSITION".
1.
From the main menu select "CHECK AXIS ADJUSTMENT".
The placement head moves to the reference point and checking the axes adjustment starts.
2.
The
results of the axis adjustment checks
(deviations) are displayed and evaluated by the computer.
In the case of deviations
> 2 counts
the
axis to be corrected
is displayed in addition, as for example:
CHECK POSITION CONTROL OF Z-AXIS
PRESS <RETURN>
3.
In any case press "RETURN". The main menu is redisplayed.
➤ Position control is
outside
the acceptable tolerance: Axis adjustment is required!
To this end, select the main menu option
"AXES MOVEMENT MENU"
(see section 5.1.20).
The documentation of the axis adjustment is required in addition (adjustment instructions of the machine)!
➤ Axis adjustment is
okay
: Select the main menu option "MEASURING MACHINE ZERO POSITION".
7.3 MEASURING MACHINE ZERO POSITION
➤ For reasons of tolerances, always use the same adjusting gauge for all stations of a lines.
Required tools and testing aids:
• Spherical hexagon socket screw key size 3
• MA-zero point adjusting gauge, item no. 00120060
• Steel nozzle, type 104, item no. 00301435
• Teach panel, external, item no. 00132207
1.
Select "MEASURING MACHINE ZERO POSITION". The following display appears:
MEASURING MACHINE ZERO POSITION
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
2.
Press the "START" button. The "SENSOR MOVABLE TABLE SIDE" is approached, the placement head is
positioned above the movable component table and the elevating table is raised.
3.
The display prompting you to insert the MA-zero point gauge appears:
INSTALL THE MACHINE ZERO POINT
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY

• Performance of the action displayed: Open the protective cover → insert the MA-zero gauge in the
elevating table rail located on the fixed side of the conveyor → secure the gauge using screws → close
protective cover → Switch on the control unit. The following display appears:
"PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY"
4. After "START" has been pressed, the nozzle is lowered into the large hole for "measuring" (Ø 5mm) for
"measuring". The following query is displayed:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE? (5 mm)
5. Check the nozzle position and press the appropriate function key YES / NO.
➤ When NO is pressed: the teaching mode is activated → screen display:
GUIDE NOZZLE TO MACHINE ZERO POS.
USE TEACH-PANEL
• Performance of the action:
• Select "slow" on the teach panel, if necessary → Teach nozzle in a centered position above the
large opening in the gauge.
• Press the button "Z-AXIS DOWN" on the teach panel → nozzle is lowered into the large opening
(measuring hole).
• If necessary, select "Z-AXIS UP" and correct X or Y-axis by "teaching".
• Nozzle has been inserted into the measuring hole ("taught") → "END" button on the teach panel:
• The hole is measured → the display appears as described under point 6.
➤ When YES is pressed: measuring hole has been measured.
6. The following display appears on the screen:
DEVIATION OF MEASURED MACHINE ZERO POSITION (X,Y) 0 0 DIGIT..
CORRECTION VALUES (X; Y) ................ ........"
➤ No deviation: Continue the measuring sequence with point 9, pressing YES (nozzle is in measuring
hole).
➤ Deviation: A selection possibility for acceptance of the values is displayed:
CORRECT MACHINE ZERO POSITION?
7. Select the appropriate function key YES / NO.
NOTE:
The acceptance of the MA-zero point correction is prerequisite for further measuring routines.
➤ When NO is pressed: No acceptance of the values → display of the main menu.
➤ When YES is pressed: Reference run → transfer of the MA-zero point correction values to the memory.
8. The following display appears on the screen:
