Testing aids required:
• Steel nozzle, type 104, item no. 00301435 *
• 2 measuring sockets, large and small, item no. 00311659 and 02102021*
• Nozzle top part made of steel (= nozzle insert), item no. 00302566 *
• All nozzle types/sizes for setting up in the nozzle changer (details to be viewed on the line computer).
* contained in the accessories kit of the nozzle changer
1. Select the "NOZZLE MENU". In the case of UNIX MA-data, the nozzle submenu is immediately
displayed (see Fig. 1.5), in the case of BASIC MA-data, first the prompt is displayed:
PLEASE ENTER TRACK NUMBER NOZZLE CHANGER
2. On the keyboard enter the track no. assigned to the nozzle changer or on which the nozzle changer is set
up. As a rule, this is track no. 85 of the movable side. Confirm the track no. with "RETURN".
3. The Bero of the left table side is approached and the nozzle submenu is displayed (see Fig. 1.5).
4. For the Routine Check select the next measuring routine of the main menu.
7.12.1 EXECUTE NEXT 2 POINTS
With this measuring routine first the X-Y positions and then the Z-positions are measured.
1. After this menu option has been selected, the routine "DETERMINE X-Y NOZZLE POSITIONS" is carried out.
➤ In the case of a discrepancy > 3mm between the nozzle positions from the MA_DATEI and the calcu-
lated nozzle positions (dimension on drawing) these positions and the following text are displayed:
NOZZLE POSITIONS DIFFER FROM THE THEORETICAL POSITIONS!
RETRIEVE DATA FROM MA_DATEI? YES / NO
➤ If there is no discrepancy, point 3 is automatically carried out next.
2. By selecting YES/No choose the values that are to serve as starting values for the measurement.
The measurement of the Bero offset (= prerequisite for recording of nozzle data) automatically follows.
3. Thereafter, the placement head is so positioned that the nozzle changer is unobstructed.
The display graphical assistance for inserting the measuring socket and the following text appear on the screen:
PLEASE INSERT TEST JACK!
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
• Performance of the action:
• Open the protective cover → ensure that the steel nozzle (normal nozzle) is installed on the place-
ment head → remove nozzles from the nozzle changer (rotate 90°) make a note of the allocation
when so doing→ insert measuring socket in the marked location (= nozzle holder) "P1" → close
the protective cover → switch on the control → press the "START" button.
4. The placement head moves above nozzle position "1", the Z-axis is lowered and the following query is displayed:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE (5MM).
➤ Nozzle is in the measuring hole: Select YES → the measurement starts → continue from point 6 onwards.
➤ Nozzle is not in the measuring hole: Select NO → display of the function keys → continue from point 5
onwards.

Using the function keys:
— Pressing "TEACH" causes the teach mode to be activated. Use the teach panel.
All measured values of the current nozzle position are set to "ZERO" (see NOTE below).
— When "AGAIN" is pressed, the measuring socket that was just measured is approached again.
— When "CONTINUE" is pressed, the next nozzle position is approached for measuring.
— Press "END" to return to the main menu.
5. If NO is selected: Press "Teach" function key → if necessary, select "slow" on the teach panel → teach
nozzle in X-Y direction centrally above the measuring socket→ press "Z-AXIS DOWN": The nozzle must
accurately enter the hole of the measuring socket.
➤ Nozzle was not able to be properly inserted: Press "Z-AXIS UP" on the teach panel → then correct the
position using the X and Y-rotary knobs.
➤ Nozzle was able to be inserted: Press "Z-AXIS UP" → then select the "END" button on the teach panel
→ the hole is measured.
6. If YES is selected (see above, point 4): The X and Y-positions of the nozzle are measured and the next
position to be measured is marked on the screen.
7. Now insert the measuring socket into the next marked nozzle location.
NOTE
"CONTINUE" (function key) can be used to skip a nozzle. Nozzle positions that were not measured are
set to "0". The Z-value of positions set to "0" will then not be determined either!
When performing the Routine Check, always determine all occupied nozzle positions.
8. Proceeding in the aforementioned manner, measure all nozzle positions occupied in the nozzle changer.
➤ Procedure to be followed if a special holder is installed:
Measure the last normal holder (location) → insert the large measuring socket in the large holder →
continue the measuring procedure by pressing "START" → respond to the screen query "IS NOZZLE
IN MEASURING HOLE" with NO (F8) → now teach nozzle centrally above the large measuring
socket.
9. After all X and Y-nozzle positions have been determined, the placement head is moved to the service position
and the following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE PROVIDE NOZZLE CHANGER WITH NOZZLES AND
PUT NOZZLE INTO HEAD.
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
• Performance of the action:
•
Step 1: Properly equip nozzle changer with nozzles (see also next CAUTION text):
Open the protective cover → manually pick up correct nozzle → insert nozzle in proper rotational depo-
siting position into correct holder → manually rotate nozzle 90° until it is latched/locked in place.

CAUTION
∆
!
Any incorrect assignment of nozzle type / location no. results in incorrect Z-positions and in errors du-
ring the subsequent placement operation. The assignment can be viewed on the line computer.
•
Step 2: Install nozzle insert in the head: loosen knurled nut at the sleeve
→
remove steel nozzle
→
push nozzle insert into the sleeve as far as it will go (the sleeve pin must engage the elongated
hole of the nozzle insert)
→
ensure that the O-ring is inserted in the knurled nut
→
sufficiently
tighten knurled nut, taking care, however, not to pinch the O-ring when so doing
→
close the protecti-
ve cover
→
switch on the control
→
press the "START" button.
NOTE
When determining the Z-positions, the Z-positions of the nozzles as entered in the MA-Data are always
used as the basis.
10. All previously determined nozzle positions are approached - starting with "1".
Each nozzle is picked up 10x and returned to the same location.
11. After measuring all Z-positions the display of the values determined so far appears.
➤ If the error message "NOZZLE FAULT DURING PICKUP" or "NOZZLE FAULT DURING PLACEMENT"
is displayed, the placement head is moved to the service position.
Troubleshooting:
•
Open the protective cover
→
check whether the nozzle top part has been properly installed and
whether the nozzle to be picked up is available in the nozzle changer in correct rotational position
(= locked).
•
Close the protective cover and press the "START" button.
•
The program makes three attempts in total to pick up the same nozzle.
•
If an error occurs again when so doing, the program continues with the measurement of the next
Z-position. After the determination of all values, point 12 is carried out.
12. All nozzle positions (X,Y and Z) determined, the underlying MA_DATEI positions and the
following query are displayed:
TAKE OVER NEW NOZZLE POSITIONS? YES / NO
NOTE
The nozzle no. displayed at this stage is consistent with the location no. (not the no. of the nozzle type !).
X,Y-positions that were not determined are set to "0".
The Z-position is not determined in this case.
13. Press function key "YES" to transfer the new values to the main memory.
14. The placement head is moved to the service position and the following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE REPLACE ADAPTER FOR VACUUM NOZZLE BY STEEL ADAPTER.
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
