To protect the glass plate from damage it is absolutely mandatory that no centering plates, MA-zero gau-
ges or other devices be present in the conveyor as these would move upward during the clamping proce-
dure causing damage to the glass plate!
Handle the glass plate with utmost care. The edge protection and the masking strip for detection of the
plate by the light barrier must be present. When the mapping procedure is terminated be sure to return
the glass plate carefully to its case!
1. After selecting "GLASS MAPPING" (function key) the standard submenu is displayed (Fig. 1.4).
2. After selecting "START MEASUREMENT" respond to the query
DOES MACHINE HAVE MOTOR-DRIVEN WIDTH ADJUSTMENT ?
with the appropriate function key YES / NO.
➤ If YES: is pressed: The automatic width adjustment of the conveyor is performed.
➤ If NO is selected, the following message is displayed:
SET WIDTH ADJUSTMENT TO 460mm
PRESS <RETURN>
3. Thereafter the following prompt is displayed:
PUSH GLASS MAPPING BOARD TO THE PCB-STOPPER
4. When this position is reached (light barrier is activated) the following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
5. After pressing the "START" button the clamping unit is closed!
The placement head is positioned to the machine zero point and the following prompt is displayed:
TEACH CAMERA TO THE NEAREST FIDUCIAL-CROSS
•
Using the teach panel "teach" the PCB camera above the nearest cross (fiducial).
•
Press END (teach panel). This causes the fiducial to be transferred to the ICOS. The ICOS screen
changes color and the blue centering cross is displayed.
•
Press the "START" button. After the automatic determination of the rotational offset of the plate in the
conveyor, the gantry offset is determined.
6. After the complete plate has been measured press "RETURN" to return to the MAPPING MENU.
7. Now select the "SAVE RESULTS IN PASSPOINT FILE" menu option.
The results (except for the MA-zero point correction) are transferred to the work diskette.
8. You may now either select "PRINT OUT RESULTS" or perform the comparison measurement analogously
to section 7.9.3.
9. After pressing "END" (function key) the clamping unit is opened again and the following message is displayed:
TAKE GLASS MAPPING BOARD OUT OF CONVEYOR
•
Now remove the glass plate carefully (!) from the conveyor and place the plate into the storage case!

10. Thereafter the following prompt is displayed:
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
• The gantry reverts to the home position and the main menu is redisplayed.
7.11 AXES-INIT-MENU
This menu is required for the routine check (together with the EDIT MENU) only if you had to respond to the
query "Z AXIS IN UPPER POSITION ?" with NO upon the start of the AutoCal program (see section 7.1).
1. From the main menu select "AXES-INIT-MENU". The submenu (see Fig. 1.3) is displayed.

DANGER OF A PLACEMENT HEAD CRASH!
After changing the head correction values the head axes are always to be initialized individually and in
the following sequence: " H → Z ! → D" → "X and Y" (as displayed on the screen).
Always check first of all whether the Z-axis is right up in top position before initializing the X and
Y-axes or before selecting "ALL AXES"!
2. Select the axis to be initialized. The following display appears on the screen:
ATTENTION, AXES BEING POSITIONED
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
3. Press the "START" button. The following display appears on the screen, as for example:
REFERENCE POINT
H-AXIS
➤ The selected axis was not initialized → the following error message is displayed:
AXIS/AXES NOT INITIALIZED
• Select "END" and perform troubleshooting activities on the axis (see Service Manual). Proceed for
troubleshooting of the head axes in accordance with the Service Manual "30 mm Placement Head
on HS-180" or the Service Manual HS-180, chapter 9 (29 mm placement head).
➤ The selected axis was initialized: Select the next axis (for proper sequence, see WARNING above).
4. Press "END" to return to the main menu.
7.12 NOZZLE MENU
➤ Precondition: The "ANGLE CORRECTION OF D-AXIS" must have already been determined and been
transferred to the MA-Data. Perform therefore the measuring routine "EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS" first
(see section 7.14) and select thereafter the "NOZZLE MENU".
➤ If you wish to measure only one single nozzle, proceed as described in section 7.12.3 further below.

Testing aids required:
• Steel nozzle, type 104, item no. 00301435 *
• 2 measuring sockets, large and small, item no. 00311659 and 02102021*
• Nozzle top part made of steel (= nozzle insert), item no. 00302566 *
• All nozzle types/sizes for setting up in the nozzle changer (details to be viewed on the line computer).
* contained in the accessories kit of the nozzle changer
1. Select the "NOZZLE MENU". In the case of UNIX MA-data, the nozzle submenu is immediately
displayed (see Fig. 1.5), in the case of BASIC MA-data, first the prompt is displayed:
PLEASE ENTER TRACK NUMBER NOZZLE CHANGER
2. On the keyboard enter the track no. assigned to the nozzle changer or on which the nozzle changer is set
up. As a rule, this is track no. 85 of the movable side. Confirm the track no. with "RETURN".
3. The Bero of the left table side is approached and the nozzle submenu is displayed (see Fig. 1.5).
4. For the Routine Check select the next measuring routine of the main menu.
7.12.1 EXECUTE NEXT 2 POINTS
With this measuring routine first the X-Y positions and then the Z-positions are measured.
1. After this menu option has been selected, the routine "DETERMINE X-Y NOZZLE POSITIONS" is carried out.
➤ In the case of a discrepancy > 3mm between the nozzle positions from the MA_DATEI and the calcu-
lated nozzle positions (dimension on drawing) these positions and the following text are displayed:
NOZZLE POSITIONS DIFFER FROM THE THEORETICAL POSITIONS!
RETRIEVE DATA FROM MA_DATEI? YES / NO
➤ If there is no discrepancy, point 3 is automatically carried out next.
2. By selecting YES/No choose the values that are to serve as starting values for the measurement.
The measurement of the Bero offset (= prerequisite for recording of nozzle data) automatically follows.
3. Thereafter, the placement head is so positioned that the nozzle changer is unobstructed.
The display graphical assistance for inserting the measuring socket and the following text appear on the screen:
PLEASE INSERT TEST JACK!
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
• Performance of the action:
• Open the protective cover → ensure that the steel nozzle (normal nozzle) is installed on the place-
ment head → remove nozzles from the nozzle changer (rotate 90°) make a note of the allocation
when so doing→ insert measuring socket in the marked location (= nozzle holder) "P1" → close
the protective cover → switch on the control → press the "START" button.
4. The placement head moves above nozzle position "1", the Z-axis is lowered and the following query is displayed:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE (5MM).
➤ Nozzle is in the measuring hole: Select YES → the measurement starts → continue from point 6 onwards.
➤ Nozzle is not in the measuring hole: Select NO → display of the function keys → continue from point 5
onwards.
