NOTE If the A utoCal program continued with t he next nozz le position on acc ount of a measuring error of a Z- position, t he reason for this (defective nozz le / incorr ec t angle offset of the D-axis) must be eli mina…

CAUTION
∆
!
Any incorrect assignment of nozzle type / location no. results in incorrect Z-positions and in errors du-
ring the subsequent placement operation. The assignment can be viewed on the line computer.
•
Step 2: Install nozzle insert in the head: loosen knurled nut at the sleeve
→
remove steel nozzle
→
push nozzle insert into the sleeve as far as it will go (the sleeve pin must engage the elongated
hole of the nozzle insert)
→
ensure that the O-ring is inserted in the knurled nut
→
sufficiently
tighten knurled nut, taking care, however, not to pinch the O-ring when so doing
→
close the protecti-
ve cover
→
switch on the control
→
press the "START" button.
NOTE
When determining the Z-positions, the Z-positions of the nozzles as entered in the MA-Data are always
used as the basis.
10. All previously determined nozzle positions are approached - starting with "1".
Each nozzle is picked up 10x and returned to the same location.
11. After measuring all Z-positions the display of the values determined so far appears.
➤ If the error message "NOZZLE FAULT DURING PICKUP" or "NOZZLE FAULT DURING PLACEMENT"
is displayed, the placement head is moved to the service position.
Troubleshooting:
•
Open the protective cover
→
check whether the nozzle top part has been properly installed and
whether the nozzle to be picked up is available in the nozzle changer in correct rotational position
(= locked).
•
Close the protective cover and press the "START" button.
•
The program makes three attempts in total to pick up the same nozzle.
•
If an error occurs again when so doing, the program continues with the measurement of the next
Z-position. After the determination of all values, point 12 is carried out.
12. All nozzle positions (X,Y and Z) determined, the underlying MA_DATEI positions and the
following query are displayed:
TAKE OVER NEW NOZZLE POSITIONS? YES / NO
NOTE
The nozzle no. displayed at this stage is consistent with the location no. (not the no. of the nozzle type !).
X,Y-positions that were not determined are set to "0".
The Z-position is not determined in this case.
13. Press function key "YES" to transfer the new values to the main memory.
14. The placement head is moved to the service position and the following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE REPLACE ADAPTER FOR VACUUM NOZZLE BY STEEL ADAPTER.
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY

NOTE
If the AutoCal program continued with the next nozzle position on account of a measuring error of a Z-
position, the reason for this (defective nozzle / incorrect angle offset of the D-axis) must be eliminated
and the measurement of the positions must be repeated.
If you perform the "nozzle endurance run" following the determination of the nozzle positions, the nozzle
insert remains installed. Just press the "START" button.
• Performance of the action:
Open the protective cover → remove nozzle top part ( = nozzle insert) → install steel nozzle (= normal
nozzle) and secure with knurled nut → close protective cover → switch on the control → press the
"START" button → placement head moves to the waiting position → display of the main menu.
15. Select "STORING" to transfer the values to the work diskette.
— Annotation to the individual check: Prior to starting the station software the reference status of the
nozzle changer HS-180 must be established (see section 10.1.4).
7.12.2 MEASURE ONE SINGLE NOZZLE
This routine is only designed for checking and measuring the X,Y and Z-positions of one single, selectable
nozzle, e.g. in the event that for the nozzle concerned an error message has just been released when it was
picked up or returned during the placement cycle for this nozzle.
➤ Within the scope of the Routine Check all positions are always determined (see section above)!
1. After selecting "MEASURE ONE SINGLE NOZZLE" the graphical display (top view of
nozzle changer HS-180) for inserting the measuring socket and the following text are displayed:
KEY IN THE NOZZLE NUMBER: _1
• Enter the no. of the nozzle to be measured (= location no., see graphics) on the keyboard and con-
firm by pressing "RETURN". The AutoCal program performs a check as to whether the no. entered lies
within the acceptable range. The entry can be aborted by pressing the "Abort" button.
• After entering a valid no., the X, Y and Z-positions of this nozzle are measured. The procedure is simi-
lar to that of "MEASURE NOZZLE POSITIONS" (see section 12.1).
➤ For the determination of the X,Y-position the measuring socket must be inserted in the selected location.
➤ For the determination of the Z-position the correct nozzle (the correct nozzle type) must be inserted in
the selected location: The assignment of nozzle type/location no. can be viewed on the line computer
(see CAUTION text on the preceding page!).

7.12.3 Nozzle Endurance Run
This menu option serves to check the pick-up and depositing operation (for the Routine Check it is
recommended
).
➤
Prerequisite
for the performance is, among others, (see also chap. 6) that the "ANGLE OFFSET D-AXIS"
has already been determined and been transferred to the MA_DATEI (see "EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS").
Testing aids:
• All nozzle types/sizes for setting up in the nozzle changer (to be viewed on the line computer)
• Nozzle top part ( = nozzle insert), item no. 00302566
1.
From the main menu select "NOZZLE ENDUR. RUN". The following display appears on the screen.
PLEASE PROVIDE NOZZLE CHANGER WITH NOZZLES AND
PUT NOZZLE INTO HEAD
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
•
Performance of the action:
See "MEASURE NOZZLE POSITIONS", point 9.
2.
After pressing the "START" button the
graphical display
of the nozzle changer with marked
current nozzle position and the following text are displayed:
PRESS ANY KEY TO STOP ENDURANCE RUN
• The nozzle endurance run starts All nozzles are picked up successively and returned to the allocated
locations in each case (see above: "MEASURE Z-NOZZLE POSITIONS").
If an
error message
is displayed: Remedy see "MEASURE Z-NOZZLE POSITIONS", point 11.
3. Terminate
the procedure by pressing
any
key on the keyboard.
The nozzle that was picked up last is deposited and the main menu redisplayed.
4.
The placement head is moved to the service position. The further procedure is as described above under
point 14.
7.13 EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS (Calibration of PCB Vision System)
Testing aids required
• VISION 2 calibration plate, item no. 00132070
• PCB
• Vacuum nozzle adapter, type 117, item no. 00300659
• Steel nozzle, type 104, item no. 00301435
• Teach panel, external, item no. 00132207
NOTE
For machines up to and including
batch identity no. 3
the conveyor width is now to be adjusted to the
width of the PCB (using the handwheel).
1.
Select
"EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS"
.
The four measurement procedures are then carried out automatically and in the sequence required.
The PCB and the calibration plate have only to be inserted once at the beginning.
2.
The communication test between the computer and ICOS is now performed automatically.
