Please not the following:
➤ For the glass mapping process both adhesive cartridges and also the MA zero point gauge required
for other Adhesive Station II routines must be removed!
➤ DANGER OF DAMAGE: Pay attention to the DANGER note in the sequence description, chap. 7!
➤ The MA zero point correction values previously determined by mapping and subsequently displayed on
the screen must be adopted for the performance of the measurement. However, the values previously
determined by means of "Measure machine zero point" will not be overwritten.
When mapping is performed the PASSPKT file (mapping file) of the station is created.
5.2.6 AXES INITIALIZING MENU
After selecting this main menu option a submenu appears (see Fig. 1.3) .
You can either initialize the X and Y-axis individually (e.g. to check the pulse generator of an axis) or initialize
all axes.
The "AXES INIT MENU" can also be called up from the "EDIT MENU".
5.2.7 DETERMINE CALIBRATION FACTORS OF HEAD CAMERA
This main menu option is used to determine the calibration factors of the head camera.
Calibration factors and camera offset (see next main menu option) are prerequisite for the execution of the
mapping menu (= glass mapping) options.
After determining the calibration factors, the camera offset must be determined.
5.2.8 DETERMINE CAMERA OFFSET and ADHESIVE NEEDLE OFFSET
This main menu option is used to determine the distance between PCB camera and adhesive nozzle and
subsequently the dispensing needle offset.
Prerequisite for this measuring routine is the determination of the calibration factors of the head camera.
Glass mapping cannot be performed until the camera and dispensing needle offsets have been determined.
5.2.9 CONVEYOR BELT WIDTH ADJUSTMENT
This function is designed to adjust, if required, the conveyor to the PCB width used.
The description of the menu option is contained in section 5.1.19!
➤ On machines with automatic width adjustment, pay attention to the WORKAROUND → section 12.2.

5.2.10 AXES MOVEMENT MENU
Selecting this menu option causes a
submenu
to be displayed (see Fig. 1.8).
After selecting the
X or Y-axis
the function screen of the selected axis is displayed offering the possibility to
select between editing and positioning the axis.
The description of this menu option is contained in section 5.1.20!
Pay attention to the
safety prompts
displayed during the AutoCal sequence in section 2.3!
5.2.11 I/O MENU
This menu permits you to set the desired outputs by selecting "TEST OUTPUTS", to toggle the outputs by se-
lecting "CONT. OP." and to check the updated inputs in each case on the screen. Selecting "TEST INPUTS"
causes all signal state changes of the inputs to be displayed on the screen in an additive process.
WARNING

∆
!
Any

verification by the software is carried out !
The description of this menu option is contained in section 5.1.21!
5.2.12 STORING
The values determined can be saved from the main memory to the work diskette by selecting this menu opti-
on available on the main menu and the EDIT menu.
A save should be performed after
each
measuring routine so as to preclude any data loss due to any malfun-
ctions that might occur.
If the
work diskette
containing the machine data is
write protected
, the software will issue the following
message after "STORING" has been selected: "NO SPACE TO STORE" (referring to the diskette).
Deactivate the write protect tab on the work diskette and select "STORING" once more.

5.3 Description of the Menu Options for MS-102, 128 and 132
The following information is required for the performance of the measuring routines!
➤ The sequence in this description is consistent with the sequence of the menu options as displayed on the
screen and thus the
sequence in which the measurements are performed
(see also Fig. 1.2).
5.3.1 EDIT MENU
After selecting the "EDIT MENU" the submenu appears (see Fig. 1.9).
The further description of this menu is contained in section 5.1.1
5.3.2 CHECK AXIS ADJUSTMENT
The description of this menu is contained in section 5.1.2
5.3.3 DETERMINE MAX. AND MIN. Z-AXIS TRAVEL RANGES
This measuring routine is used to determine the min. and max. traversing path of the Z-axis. The value deter-
mined is transferred to the MA-data under "Maximum or minimum position Z".
—
After this function has been selected, the placement is positioned within the conveying area for safety reasons.
—
After the measurement has been completed, the values determined are
displayed
on the screen.
The value should be ≥ +1292 counts so that a Z-stroke of
at least 30 mm ( +1296 counts)
can be perfor-
med in the placement cycle. By confirming with "Return" the value is transferred to the MA-data.
CAUTION
∆
!
If the max. Z-traversing path of +1296 counts (equals
30
mm) is
not
attained, appropriate troubleshooting
measures on the placement head must be performed at this stage of the measuring sequence (Service
Manual, 30 mm placement head) and subsequently this measuring routine must be repeated.
5.3.4 MEASURE MACHINE ZERO POSITION
This menu option is used to determine the X and Y-zero point
correction
values of the MA-zero point.
—
Determining the zero point correction values using the MA-zero point gauge is, among others, prerequisite
for mapping (Mapping menu).
—
For tolerance reasons, the
same
setting gauge(MA-zero point gauge) must be used for the determination
of the MA-zero point and checking the adhesive station zero point for the placement and adhesive station
conveyor of an MS-type machine. Mark the allocation of the gauge to the machine, e.g. by means of a wa-
ter-resistant foil pen on the respective MA-zero point gauge.
—
This means that for tolerance reasons also the elevating table rails must not be interchanged among the
placement or adhesive station conveyors, nor among the machines.
