15. Now you can select:
"DISPLAY RESULTS ON SCREEN" = the data just determined are displayed again on the screen.
"PRINT OUT RESULTS" = the data determined, incl. graphics, are printed out.
16. Continue as follows:
If you do not wish to perform any more "comparison measurement", you can obtain a printout of the
measurement, provided a printer is connected, proceeding as follows:
Select the menu option "PRINT OUT RESULTS".
Perform all steps as described in the following section, from point 4 onwards.
Attach this printout of the "measurement" to the logbook of the machine.
Perform the comparison measurement for the determined values in accordance with the section below.
7.9.3 Procedure: "START COMPARISON MEASUREMENT"
For routine and individual checks it is recommended to perform the comparison measurement with respect
to the values determined by means of "START MEASUREMENT".
1. Continue the measuring procedure by selecting "START COMPARISON MEASUREMENT".
The measurement of the mapping plate (= of the gantry) is repeated, starting with the MA-zero point,
as previously described under "START MEASUREMENT".
Respond to the query "SAVE MA-ZERO POINT CORRECTION?" again with YES.
The internally calculated deviations are again displayed under the "CHECK" column (see below).
NOTE
If the "START MEASUREMENT" procedure is not performed and the mapping file from the work diskette
is loaded for the comparison measurement, the values in this file will be compared.
Display of the deviations determined:
MAPPING CHECK
X -ACT. Y-NOM. X-ACT. Y-ACT. X-DIFF. Y-DIFF. X-CRTL Y-CRTL
18.400 63.000 18.400 62.945 0.000 -.055 0.000 0.002
etc.
2. The deviations displayed under "CHECK" should not be larger than ± 0.02 mm.
Deviations > ± 0.02 mm: correct error (see above) select "START MEASUREMENT".
If deviations occur again > ± 0.02 mm: Determine the cause (see below).
To perform troubleshooting, you may have to exit from the AutoCal program.
Subsequently repeat the measurement, starting with "START MEASUREMENT".
Possible causes of error if deviations > 0.02 mm occur again:
The position control of the positioning axes is not optimal (see menu option "CHECK AXIS ADJUSTMENT").
The slide block / positioning axes has/have not been serviced (see User’s Manual).
3. Deviations ≤ ± 0.02 mm: Select "SAVE RESULTS IN PASSPOINT FILE" !

4. Subsequently select, if applicable, "PRINT OUT COMPARISON RESULTS".
To obtain the printout, proceed as follows:
Press "RETURN" to return to the MAPPING MENU and select "PRINT OUT COMPARISON RE-
SULTS (701)"; the following display appears on the screen:
MACHINE NO. :.......... HEAD NUMBER :..........
MACHINE TYPE :.......... DATE :..........
CUSTOMER :..........
Enter the required data on the computer keyboard and confirm with "RETURN".
Subsequently select "CONTINUE" to start the printout.
5. Attach this printout of the comparison measurement to the logbook of the machine.
6. Conclude the mapping procedure by pressing "END" (function key).
The placement head is positioned above the movable component table. The following displayed appe-
ars on the screen:
REMOVE MAPPING BOARD
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
Performance of the action:
Open the protective cover carefully (centering pins! / placement head!) lift the mapping plate up-
wards and outlift out the centering square and disassemble return all parts to the mapping
case put the correct elevating table rail (correct assignment!) in place again close the protecti-
ve cover switch on the control press the "START" button (the measuring procedure will not
continue until the conveyor is cleared).
7. The elevating table moves downward and the main menu appears on the screen.
NOTE
For the performance of the "NOZZLE MENU" the die "ANGLE CORRECTION OF D-AXIS" must have al-
ready been determined.
Therefore, as a next step, select "EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS" and only then "NOZZLE MENU".
7.10 MAPPING MENU (GLASS MAPPING)
7.10.1 Preconditions for the measurement
Before "glass mapping" is performed the values "CALIBRATION FACTORS OF HEAD CAMERA" and
"CAMERA OFFSET" should have been determined as a minimum (see "EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS").
The glass plate is to remain in the mapping case until you are prompted to place it into position!
There are only minor difference between the glass mapping and the steel mapping procedures. The
differences are described in the following.
All other information is contained in section 7.9 MAPPING MENU (steel mapping).

WARNING
!
!
To protect the glass plate from damage it is absolutely mandatory that no centering plates, MA-zero gau-
ges or other devices be present in the conveyor as these would move upward during the clamping proce-
dure causing damage to the glass plate!
Handle the glass plate with utmost care. The edge protection and the masking strip for detection of the
plate by the light barrier must be present. When the mapping procedure is terminated be sure to return
the glass plate carefully to its case!
1. After selecting "GLASS MAPPING" (function key) the standard submenu is displayed (Fig. 1.4).
2. After selecting "START MEASUREMENT" respond to the query
DOES MACHINE HAVE MOTOR-DRIVEN WIDTH ADJUSTMENT ?
with the appropriate function key YES / NO.
If YES: is pressed: The automatic width adjustment of the conveyor is performed.
If NO is selected, the following message is displayed:
SET WIDTH ADJUSTMENT TO 460mm
PRESS <RETURN>
3. Thereafter the following prompt is displayed:
PUSH GLASS MAPPING BOARD TO THE PCB-STOPPER
4. When this position is reached (light barrier is activated) the following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
5. After pressing the "START" button the clamping unit is closed!
The placement head is positioned to the machine zero point and the following prompt is displayed:
TEACH CAMERA TO THE NEAREST FIDUCIAL-CROSS
Using the teach panel "teach" the PCB camera above the nearest cross (fiducial).
Press END (teach panel). This causes the fiducial to be transferred to the ICOS. The ICOS screen
changes color and the blue centering cross is displayed.
Press the "START" button. After the automatic determination of the rotational offset of the plate in the
conveyor, the gantry offset is determined.
6. After the complete plate has been measured press "RETURN" to return to the MAPPING MENU.
7. Now select the "SAVE RESULTS IN PASSPOINT FILE" menu option.
The results (except for the MA-zero point correction) are transferred to the work diskette.
8. You may now either select "PRINT OUT RESULTS" or perform the comparison measurement analogously
to section 7.9.3.
9. After pressing "END" (function key) the clamping unit is opened again and the following message is displayed:
TAKE GLASS MAPPING BOARD OUT OF CONVEYOR
Now remove the glass plate carefully (!) from the conveyor and place the plate into the storage case!
