9.12 ADHESIVE MENU
Testing aids required:
• Adjusting gauge for adhesive dispensing head, with tip, item no. 00310314
*
• Plasticine
1.
Select "ADHESIVE MENU". The
Adhesive Submenu
is displayed (see Fig. 1.10).
2.
Select
"DETERMINE CALIBRATION FACTORS ADH. CAMERA":
—
By means of the CONVEYOR BELT WIDTH ADJUSTMENT adjust the conveyor width to the PCB used.
—
If the ICOS system cannot be synchronized, reset it manually.
Further procedure in condensed form:
(Details are contained in section
7.14
"EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS",
from point 1
up to and including
point
9
).
• When prompted to do so, adjust conveyor to the current PCB width, if applicable (see section 5.1.19),
• when prompted to do so, place PCB in the input conveyor,
• close protective cover, switch on the control and press the "START" button,
• the PCB is conveyed to the "GLUE STATION" center conveyor for the performance of this measuring
routine.
3.
The PCB, the required position of the calibration plate (graphical display) and the following text are
displayed on the screen:
PLACE CALIBRATION PART ON MOTHERBOARD
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
•
Performance of the action:
Open protective cover → place the calibration plate exactly on the PCB
as shown on the screen → close protective cover → switch on the control → press the "START" but-
ton.
4.
The following check is performed
"DETERMINE CALIBRATION FACTORS ADH. CAMERA"
and the
following display appears on the screen:
USE TEACH-PANEL
TEACHING IS ON, ’END’ TO FINISH
•
Performance of the action:
Using the PCB camera "teach" a fiducial of the calibration board in X-Y-di-
rection so that it is centered (mark on the screen must be centered with respect to the fiducial) →
press "END" on the teach panel → the procedure for determining the calibration factors follows.
5.
The
complete calibration factors
of the adhesive station camera (X1, X2, X3 and Y1, Y2, Y3) are displayed.
➤ Procedure to be followed in the case of error message
"CHECK MEASUREMENT NOT SUCCESS-
FUL":
Press "RETURN"→ press "END" → remove PCB and plate from the output conveyor Ä check
calibration plate for oxidation/ contamination → use new plate, if required → repeat measurement from
point
1
onwards.
➤ After the
successful
measurement confirm with "RETURN" to transfer the values to the main memory.
The ADHESIVE MENU is redisplayed.

* also referred to as adhesive station zero point gauge (abbreviated on the screen: K-N-L)

NOTE:
Save ("Storing") the values determined only after the following measuring routine has been performed
(DETERMINE DISTANCE CAMERA - ADHESIVE NOZZLE) as upon exiting from the ADHESIVE MENU
by selecting "END" the PCB is conveyed out of the machine.
6. Select "DISTANCE CAMERA - ADH. NOZZLE (OLD X,Y -- NEW X,Y)".
The following display appears on the screen:
- FIX PLASTICINE ON PCB
- EXCHANGE ADH. CARTRIDGE FOR KLEBER-NULLPUNKT-LEHRE (K-N-L)
- ’TEACH’ K-N-L OVER PLASTICINE
- AFTER ’END’ AN IMPRESSION IN THE PLASTICINE IS CREATED
TEACHING IS ON, ’END’ TO FINISH
• Performance of the action:
Open protective cover → apply plasticine (form a thin plate) to the center of the PCB by pressing it
on → remove adhesive cartridge including pressure spring (see chapter 10, Service Manual) → In-
stall adjusting gauge for adhesive station zero point (referred to as "KNL") → teach the tip of the
"K-N-L" above the plasticine → press the "END" button on the teach panel → after END the Z-axis
is lowered once → an impression is produced in the plasticine→ the Z-axis is raised again.
7. Now teach the camera above the impression until the crosshairs are in exactly centered position above
the impression on the screen.
8. Press again the "END" button on the teach panel. The CAMERA OFFSET is displayed on the screen, as
for example:
DISTANCE CAMERA - ADH. NOZZLE (OLD X,Y -- NEW X,Y)
21.290 -4.6950 - - 11.420 -45.470
PRESS <RETURN>
9. Check the values and press "RETURN". The values are transferred to the main memory.
The following display appears on the screen:
STORING MA_MSZUS (YES/NO)
10. Transfer the values determined (calibration factors and distance) for the adhesive station PCB camera to the
MA_MSZUS file (Winchester) of the machine by selecting the function key for "YES" now.
NOTE:
The values held in the MA_MSZUS file cannot be displayed.
11. Further actions: Select "END" → display of the main menu → remove PCB from the output conveyor →
open protective cover → remove adhesive station zero point gauge (Kleber-Nullpunkt-Lehre) → Reinstall
adhesive cartridge including pressurespring → close protective cover → switch on the control.

9.13 AXES INITIALIZING MENU
This menu (together with the EDIT MENU)is required
only
if you had to respond to the query
"Z AXIS IN UP-
PER POSITION ?"
with
NO
upon the start of the AutoCal program (see section 7.1).
• In this case proceed as described for the HS-180 in section
7.11
.
9.14 NOZZLE MENU
➤ Observe the correct
allocation
of the nozzles (see "Adapter Coordinates" / Service Manual MS, chap.
"Station Extensions")!
➤ A prerequisite for this measuring routine is, among others:
"ANGLE CORRECTION D-AXIS"
must have
been determined!
➤ Nozzle changer on MS-1xx:
7
normal holders and
1
special holder (= different from HS-180 !)
• Perform the procedure for "DETERMINE NOZZLE POSITIONS" and "NOZZLE ENDUR. RUN"
analo-
gously
to the description for HS-180, section
7.12 and 7.13
(testing aids: see 7.12 and 7.13).
CAUTION
∆
!
To conclude, establish the
"reference status
of the nozzle changer MS-1xx" (section
10.3) !
9.15 "EXECUTE NEXT 4 POINTS" (calibration PCB Vision System)
• Perform the calibration proceeding as described for the HS-180 in section
7.14
.
• Testing aids required: see section 7.14
NOTE
➤ The jaws correction values are displayed in mm (incl. sign).
➤ The max. perm. Z and / or H-jaws correction is ± 0.20 mm and is entered in the MA-Data on MS-1xx
machines under
