2.3 Safety Requirements During the Performance of the Axis Movement Menu
The following criteria apply:
•
Whenever the gantry is moved the Z-axis must be positioned at 0 counts.
•
In the case of high speeds the protective cover must be closed and the key switch
activated
(= locked and removed!).
If the keyswitch is in service position, the following message is displayed:
"KEY SWITCH IN SERVICE POSITION. Z AXIS IS MOVING SLOWLY!"
In this case, the START button
must be pressed before the gantry is moved into any direction. The axis then moves at
normal
AutoCal
speed (= 1). If the protective cover is closed and the keyswitch is turned, the system
immediately travels
again
at the selected continuous running speed. Actuation of the START button is not requested.
•
The limit switches must be interrogated. If overshooting causes the system to reach a limit stop, the error mes-
sage "
Error: X axis #305 axis error ’limit switch actuated’
" is displayed
(this applies to the HS-180 !)
.
On the
MS machines
the limit switch is coupled electrically directly to the EMERGENCY STOP handling.
If the limit switches are actuated, the following message is therefore displayed:
"EMERGENCY STOP! ! ! Please unlock limit switch and switch on control".
However, the EMERGENCY STOP button is disengaged. Pressing and subsequently disengaging the
EMERGENCY STOP button causes the program to continue.
•
When editing the parameters the values must be checked for plausibility. The target positions are compa-
red to the maximum and minimum travel ranges. An error message will be issued if a position is excee-
ded. The same applies to the "speed" and "force" parameters.
2.4 Safety Requirements During the Performance of the I/O Menus
The following criteria apply:
WARNING
∆
!
∆
!
Simultaneously setting
competing outputs can cause
damage to the machine
!
This situation is
n o t ( ! ) monitored by the software!
•
The
EMERGENCY STOP handling
is
de
activated during the entire I/O menu operation.
•
In the event of an EMERGENCY STOP, the Z-axis will
n o t ( ! )
be raised! This means that (similar to the Z-axis handling in the event of an EMERGENCY
STOP during coplanarity measurement) that here again the head must not be moved by hand in order to
prevent damage to the Z-axis (see section 2.2 , bottom)!
•
During I/O menu operation the placement head is positioned above the area of the PCB transport and the
gantry axes are disabled. As soon as either of these two functions is exited from, the AutoCal program
performs a check as to whether, for example, the control is still switched on (screen display).

3 Requirements for Use
NOTE
The system supports the HP Think-Jet printer at the HPIP bus and the new HP 560C Desk-Jet printer at
the parallel bus (printer drivers see section 4.1.1). The printer is an optional equipment of the machine.
The new HP printer requires BASIC version 6.21.
This version is part of the AutoCal program’s scope of delivery (see Chapter 4, section "Set of diskettes").
3.1 Information About Working with UNIX/BASIC Machine Data (HS-180)
The BASIC machine data can no longer be used with the new UNIX line computer.
— Therefore the AutoCal program provides the possibility to work both with BASIC and UNIX machine data.
The AutoCal program can "recognize" whether the MA-data are written in UNIX or BASIC format. The re-
spective files are read in.
— A prerequisite for processing UNIX machine data is the use of BASIC version 6.x or higher, since DOS
diskettes can be read only from this version onwards.
NOTE
When measuring is performed using UNIX machine data on mixed lines (HS/SIPLACE), the following app-
lies: The AutoCal program cannot convert the data previously measured using BASIC. Therefore the machine
measurements must be re-determined completely anew. Please contact Siemens AG SMD-Service.
3.2 Prerequisites for HS-180 Placement Stations
3.2.1 System Requirements
• Computer, 362 series with one hard disk drive or
• Computer 200 (DD-disk drive) or
• Computer 310, 332 with HD twin-floppy disk drive or DD disk drive
• HS-180 Interface Software Version 2.3
• Line/Station Software from version 2.01 (see table, section 1.4.1)
• Axis Card Software Version 1.8 and higher
• HS-180 with UNIX line computer: BASIC from version 6.x
* The version used will be selected by the user in the Machine Selection Menu (see section 1.4.1).
NOTE:
On the newer HS-180 machines with HF-structured hard disks the drive may have the address "703,1".
This drive is supported by the AutoCal program (from V111.03).
If LRB <102.xxx is still used on the line computer, you should obtain an update!!
Overview "Line Computer Software Version / MA File Version" can be found in Section 1.4.1.
