3. The placement head moves over the large hole (measuring hole) of the adjusting gauge (taking the values
available in the MA-Data as the basis) the nozzle is lowered into the large hole.
The following display appears on the screen:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE? (5 mm)
4. Check the position of the nozzle. Select the appropriate function key YES / NO.
When NO is pressed the teach panel is activated. The following display appears on the screen:
USE TEACH-PANEL
GUIDE NOZZLE INTO LARGE MEASURING HOLE
Performance of the teaching procedure:
"Teach" the nozzle above the large hole (measuring hole) Select "Z-AXIS DOWN".
The nozzle must be able to move into the hole. To be able to correct the X and Y-positions by me-
ans of "TEACH", the "Z-AXIS UP" function must be selected on the teach panel beforehand.
If the nozzle was not able to move into the hole, press the "END" button on the teach panel.
The further procedure is as described for "YES" in the following.
When YES is pressed (nozzle was able to be inserted into measuring hole) the following display appears:
MEASURE TRACKS
Measuring sequence: The measuring hole is measured the placement head is automatically posi-
tioned above the small hole (test hole) the Z-axis is lowered into the small hole.
5. Thereafter the display appears on the screen:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE? (3.5 mm)
Check nozzle position press appropriate function key YES / NO.
When NO is pressed (nozzle is not inserted in the test hole) the following is displayed on the screen:
NOZZLE UNABLE TO FIND ORIGINAL HOLE
PRESS <RETURN>"
Press "RETURN". The measurement is repeated.
Nozzle is still unable to be inserted into the test hole: eliminate error.
Possible causes:
Sluggishness / error on glass measuring scale/counting error (troubleshooting see Service Manual).
When YES is pressed (nozzle is in test hole) the new and old track positions are displayed.
6. Press the "START" button. The new track positions are transferred to the memory.
The placement head is positioned in the MA-zero point and the TRACK MEASURING MENU is redisplayed.
7. Select "MEASURE TRACKS 2 AND 86 OF MOVABLE SIDE" (procedure as above).
In the case of faulty measurements, select the same track once more.

7.7.2 Procedure: TRACK 2 and TRACK 86 OF THE MOVABLE SIDE
NOTE
The procedure is identical to that for measuring the fixed side (see above) and is therefore described in
short form.
1.
Place the gauge onto
TRACK 2 OF THE MOVABLE SIDE
(= 2/2) and press the "START" button.
The Bero for width adjustment is automatically approached to ascertain the conveyor width.
2.
Track 2/2 of the movable side is measured as described above for the fixed side.
3.
The exact
Bero switching point
is determined by approaching the Bero 5 times and displaying the values,
as for example:
MEASUREMENT OF THE SENSOR OFFSET
SENSOR OFFSET MOVABLE TABLE Y -48.84
4.
Starting from the Bero switching point the nozzle is now lowered into the
measuring hole
(large hole) of
the gauge of track 2/2.
5.
Confirm again with
"YES"
if the nozzle was able to be inserted into the measuring hole.
The measurement of the pick-up position is now started.
6.
The values are now displayed:
"PICK-UP POSITION 2/2 (OLD, NEW)"
and
"SENSOR OFFSET MOVABLE
TABLE"
.
Press the "START" button:
The Bero offset and the pick-up position are transferred to the main memory the placement head is
positioned in the MA-zero point display of the TRACK MEASURING MENU.
7.
Place the adjusting gauge on
TRACK 86 OF THE MOVABLE SIDE
(= 2 / 86).
Carry out the measuring procedure for this track analogously to the description for track 2/2 see above).
8.
After completion of the determination of
all 4 pick-up positions
select "END". The following display
appears on the screen:
REMOVE ADJUSTING GAUGE
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
Performance of the action:
Open the protective cover remove adjusting gauge (iron) close
protective cover switch on control unit Press the "START" button display of the main menu.
9.
From the main menu select
"STORING
" and select "DETERMINE PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE" as the next
measuring routine to be performed within the routine check.
7.7.3 Procedure: ANY TRACK OF FIXED SIDE / MOVABLE SIDE
Skip
this menu option when carrying out the Routine Check.
This measuring routine is only intended for testing purposes.
The procedure for "ANY TRACK OF MOVABLE SIDE" is
analogous
to the following description for the fi-
xed side. The values determined are not stored.
1.
From the main menu select the "TRACK MEASURING MENU" and then
e.g. "ANY TRACK OF FIXED SIDE"
.

2. Enter the no. of the track to be measured (e.g. 8) and press "RETURN". Only the values
2, 8 or 14 etc. will be accepted (every 6th track). Thereafter the display appears on the screen:
PLACE IRON ON FIXED SIDE TRACK NO. 8
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
Performance of the action: Open protective cover place adjusting gauge on the track indicated
close protective cover Press "START" button.
3. The following display appears on the screen:
PLEASE WAIT.........
4. The placement head moves over the measuring hole and lowers the nozzle. The following display appears
on the screen:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE? (5 mm)
5. Continue as for " MEASURE TRACKS 2 OR 86 OF FIXED SIDE".
6. Make a note, if necessary, of the X and Y-positions as these values are not stored.
7. Press "END" to return to the main menu. The following display appears on the screen:
REMOVE ADJUSTING GAUGE
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
8. Open the protective cover, remove the adjusting gauge and then press the "START" button.
7.8 DETERMINE PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE
Tools required
Slide gauge
1. Using the slide gauge measure the exact width of the PCB used in the following.
Make a note of the value that will be entered at a later time.
2. Now adjust the conveyor exactly to the width of the PCB measured:
With machines up to and including batch identity no. 3 adjustment is to be performed using the hand-
wheel (move PCB to the output conveyor for testing purposes).
On all other machines select "CONVEYOR BELT WIDTH ADJUSTMENT" from the main menu.
Adjusting procedure: Place PCB on the input conveyor (not over the light barrier) correct con-
veyor width using the function keysfor checking purposes select "PCB -> EXIT" remove PCB
press "END".
3. Now select "DETERMINE PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE". The following display appears on the screen:
PC-BOARD WIDTH [MM] 100.00
Enter (in mm) the previously measured PCB width to which the conveyor has been adjusted.
