4. The placement head moves over the measuring hole and lowers the nozzle. The following display appears
on the screen:
NOZZLE IN MEASUR. HOLE? (5 mm)
5. Continue as for " MEASURE TRACKS 2 OR 86 OF FIXED SIDE".
6. Make a note, if necessary, of the X and Y-positions as these values are not stored.
7. Press "END" to return to the main menu. The following display appears on the screen:
REMOVE ADJUSTING GAUGE
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
8. Open the protective cover, remove the adjusting gauge and then press the "START" button.
7.8 DETERMINE PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE
Tools required
Slide gauge
1. Using the slide gauge measure the exact width of the PCB used in the following.
Make a note of the value that will be entered at a later time.
2. Now adjust the conveyor exactly to the width of the PCB measured:
With machines up to and including batch identity no. 3 adjustment is to be performed using the hand-
wheel (move PCB to the output conveyor for testing purposes).
On all other machines select "CONVEYOR BELT WIDTH ADJUSTMENT" from the main menu.
Adjusting procedure: Place PCB on the input conveyor (not over the light barrier) correct con-
veyor width using the function keysfor checking purposes select "PCB -> EXIT" remove PCB
press "END".
3. Now select "DETERMINE PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE". The following display appears on the screen:
PC-BOARD WIDTH [MM] 100.00
Enter (in mm) the previously measured PCB width to which the conveyor has been adjusted.

4. Press the "START" button. The following message is displayed:
SEARCHING SENSOR MOVABLE TABLESIDE
5 The Bero switching point is determined, subsequently the measuring results are displayed:
BERO SWITCH POINT = 200.00 mm
PCB EDGE FIXED TABLE = 71.00 mm
6. Confirm with "RETURN". The values are transferred to the work diskette.
7.9 MAPPING MENU (STEEL MAPPING)
If a head camera is fitted, you can decide between steel and glass mapping after the MAPPING MENU has
been selected. Glass mapping is described in section 7.10.
Tools and testing aids required
Hexagon socket screw key, size 2.5; tape measure (applies to machines with handwheel)
Mapping plate and centering square, contained in the mapping case for HS-180, item no. 00132040
Steel nozzle in perfect condition, type 104, item no. 00301435
The steel mapping plate must already been adapted to the ambient temperature (see section 5.8).
7.9.1 Notes on Comparison Measurement
For comparison purposes the MAPPING MENU provides you with the possibility of loading a PASSPKT
or ".SRP" file already existing on the work diskette and then executing a comparison measurement with re-
spect to this file (see below: Procedure: "START COMPARISON MEASUREMENT").
Within the scope of the routine check or individual checks the comparison measurement is, however, al-
ways to be performed with respect to the values determined during the gantry measurement (menu option
"START MEASUREMENT"), as described below.
7.9.2 Procedure: "START MEASUREMENT"
1. Connect (with the main menu displayed) the printer (where available) to the interface card or the parallel
port of the computer.
2. Select the menu option "MAPPING MENU" (see Fig. 1.4). If a head camera is fitted, the "STEEL MAPPING"
and "GLASS MAPPING" options are offered.
Select the "STEEL MAPPING" (function key) for this procedure.
3. As the first function to be carried out select "START MEASUREMENT"; the following display appears:
ATTENTION: CONVEYOR BEING ADJUSTED
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY

Up to batch identity no. 3 the conveyor is to be adjusted now (= before the message "PLEASE IN-
SERT MAPPING BOARD" is displayed) to the appropriate width for inserting the mapping plate,
using the handwheel.
4. Confirm by pressing the "START" button. If a PCB is still on the conveyor a message is displayed on the
screen, as for example:
PLEASE CLEAR INPUT CONVEYOR
PLEASE CLEAR CENTRE CONVEYOR
PRESS <RETURN>
Performance of the action: Open the protective cover remove PCB(s) additional visual in-
spection: The traversing range of the component table must be completely free of obstructions (tools,
gauges, etc.) close protective cover switch the control on Press "RETURN".
5. The conveyor automatically adjusts itself to the width of the mapping plate. At the same time the placement
head is positioned above the movable component table and the elevating table is raised. The following
display appears on the screen:
PLEASE INSERT MAPPING BOARD
PLEASE PRESS <START> KEY
First assemble the centering square (individual parts contained in the mapping case):
Screw the web on to the centering rail from underneath (2 M3 socket-head cap screws).
When doing so, note the following: All spacers must face upwards. The centering pin beveled on both
sides serves to compensate for tolerances. After placing the centering square on the conveyor, this pin
must be located at the output conveyor and at right angles to the direction of travel.
Performance of the action displayed:
Open the right-hand protective cover pull elevating table rail (on the fixed conveyor side) straight up-
wards and out of the column guide insert centering square in the column guides check whether the
centering square has made proper contact straight from above place the mapping plate carefully (!) onto
the centering pins of the square: the mapping plate must not be tilted over the centering pins when so do-
ing! check whether there is proper contact at each of the three points of support Visual inspection:
Remove everything from the surface of the mapping plate (nozzle, tools, etc.); the steel nozzle installed
must be in perfect condition close protective cover switch on the control press the "START" button.
6. The following display appears on the screen:
IS NOZZLE IN ORIGINAL HOLE (5 mm) ? YES/NO
Check whether the nozzle was able to be properly inserted into the measuring hole. Press the appro-
priate function key YES / NO.
7. If NO is selected the following display appears on the screen:
GUIDE NOZZLE INTO LARGE MEASURING HOLE (5MM)
USE TEACH-PANEL
Performance of the action: Analogously to section 7.3, point 5 press "END" on the teach panel.
8. If YES is pressed, the following display appears on the screen:
DETERMINE MACHINE ZERO POSITION
The deviation of the MA-zero point of the mapping plate and the correction values are displayed:
