4.2 Preparatory Work on the HS-180 Placement Station
NOTE
If measurements are carried out using
UNIX
machine data in mixed lines (HS / SIPLACE): The AutoCal
program cannot convert the data previously measured using BASIC. Therefore the machine measure-
ments must be re-determined
completely anew
. Please contact Siemens AG SMD-Service.
4.2.1 Checking MA Data Before Copying them to the Work Diskette
• Before copying, the machine data must be checked on the line computer:
—
On the whole, the MA-data must already have been entered correctly within narrowly defined limits.
—
In the case of UNIX machine data, only
one
reject position may be entered for the AutoCal procedure
(either "reject box at nozzle changer " or "CRDL/Vacuum reject"). This must be changed back after the
measured data have been copied to the master data storage!
—
On principle, the entered (activated) options must be consistent with the options installed on the machi-
ne which are to be measured. Since the activation of options can be changed only on the line compu-
ter, it must be corrected before the MA-data are copied.
• A blank,
properly formatted work diskette
with deactivated write protection tab must be available for
copying MA-data for the
UNIX and BASIC
line computers.
NOTE
The write-protection tab of the AutoCal program diskette must not be removed. Saving data to the pro-
gram diskette is
not permitted
!
4.2.2 BASIC Line Computer: Copying Files to the Work Diskette
NOTE
This description applies to systems from version LBR 10
2
.xxx. If you still work with line computer soft-
ware
<
102.xxx you should order an
update !
Please note: If the data format has not changed, it may be that the BASIC line computer does not auto-
matically modify the version string (e.g. when updating from LBR.102 to LBR.208).
The new version entry (replacing V2.01 by V2.09) can be done by saving the MA-data on the BASIC line
computer station-by-station.
An overview of the file versions is contained in section 1.4.1.
➤ The PASSPKT file is required only if in the course of mapping you wish to load the old mapping data for
comparison measurements.
➤ The MA_ZUSATZ file must be saved to the work diskette only if the "coplanarity" option is available and
activated in the MA-data.
• Please enter the special password and copy the MA-data of the line you wish to calibrate onto an
HP
-for-
matted, blank
3.5" diskette (= work diskette). This procedure is menu-controlled.
• Proceed as described in section
4.2.4
or
4.2.5
.

4.2.3 UNIX Line Computer: Copying Data to the Work Diskette
• Using the Data Manager, copy the MA-Data ("_.sk" and "_.kd" files) of the line you wish to calibrate onto a
DOS-formatted, blank 3.5" diskette (= work diskette).
• The "_.SRP" file is only required if you wish to carry out comparison measurements with respect to these data.
• Proceed as described in sections
4.2.4
or
4.2.5
.
4.2.4 Station computer: Installing the AutoCal Program Onto the Hard Disk
• Switch off the machine.
• Insert
installation diskette 1
into the disk drive of the station computer.
• Switch the machine back on again while the control unit remains in
off
position!
• After a short while, the "ABORT" key (function key) is displayed on the screen. Press this key within 8 se-
conds ( 1 second corresponds to 1 asterisk, shown in the lower right corner of the screen).
• Select the "
Installation from diskette
" option on the menu displayed.
• Now proceed with the menu-controlled installation of the AutoCal program.
• Proceed as described in sections
4.2.5
"HS-180 Checklist" and
4.2.6
"Starting....from the Hard Disk".
4.2.5 HS-180 Checklist: Ensuring that the Prerequisites for Program Start are Met.
1.
The machine must be in
optimum
operating condition in order to avoid any disturbing interference and
unnecessary expenditure of time during the calibration procedure.
2.
All machine data of the station must already be correct within narrowly defined limits.
3.
The options installed must be
activated
in the MA-Data (cannot be changed in the Edit menu!).
Ensure
correct activation of nozzle changer/adapter station
!
4.
All testing aids must be on hand.
5.
The temperature requirements for steel mapping must be met (see chapter 5, section 5.1.8).
6.
The keyswitch must be
removed
(see chapter 2).
7.
The work diskette with the MA-data of the station must be inserted in the disk drive, with the write
protection tab deactivated.
8.
The printer (where available) and the teach panel must be connected to the system.
9.
The printer must be provided with sufficient paper (paper end during measurement routine = malfunction!).
10.
All installed line extensions must be switched ON, but must not have been initialized yet.
Line extensions
:
Input/output station, waffle-pack changer, waffle-pack changer at IC shuttle, IC shuttle.
11.
All axes must be switched on at the axis controller cards (check switch position!)

4.2.6 Station Computer: Starting the AutoCal Program From the Hard Disk
➤ All starting prerequisites must be met (see section
4.2.5
" HS-180 Checklist:....").
• Switch the machine OFF.
• Switch the machine back ON. The control unit remains "
OFF"
for the time being!
• Insert the work diskette (containing the MA-Data of the line) into the disk drive of the station computer.
The diskette’s write-protection tab must be deactivated.
• Now switch the control unit
ON.
After a short while the "ABORT" key (function key) is displayed on the
screen. Press this function key within 8 seconds.
( 1 second corresponds to 1 asterisk, shown in the lower right corner of the screen)
• Start the AutoCal program from the hard disk by selecting menu option "
Auto Calibration Program
".
• From this stage onwards, proceed as described in chapter
7
.
4.2.7 Station Computer: Starting the AutoCal Program From the Diskette
➤ All prerequisites for starting the program must be met (see section
4.2.5
" HS-180 Checklist:....").
• Start the program from the diskette (
menu-controlled
procedure) as shown in the
Flow chart, Fig. 4.1
.
• After AutoCal has been started from a wrong diskette, the error message "FILE NOT FOUND" appears on
the screen.
• The diskette can now be changed and replaced with the other installation diskette. After pressing function
key "AGAIN" the system searches for the program module again. This procedure is repeated until the pro-
gram module has been found (function key "END" = program exit).
• Now carry out the Routine Checks of the HS machine as described in chapter 7.
