1. Placing Heads

The placing head picks parts from the feeders and place them onto the board currently in

production. The placing head assembly consists of the holder, nozzle, shaft and other related

parts.

1.1 Nozzle

Nozzle Types

The following nozzle diameters are available. Select nozzles corresponding to the parts

to be placed.

ø0.4 mm (for 0603) ø2.5 mm

ø0.7 mm ø3.7 mm

ø1.0 mm ø5.0 mm

ø1.3 mm ø7.0 mm

ø1.8 mm ø10.0 mm (Only for 5000 type)

WARNING

• Turn off the 200 V servo power before carrying out this work.

• Exercise extreme caution when working on the machine if the cam is

not at its origin (0 deg.). Recoil of the cam axis can endanger the

operator.

Removal

1. Push the nozzle in. While pushing in, turn to the left.

2. Pull the nozzle out slowly by hand. When removing the nozzle, be careful not to

lose the spring that is inside the nozzle.

Installation

When attaching the nozzle, push it in from the bottom and turn to the right.

1.2 Nozzle Holder

Before removing the holder, the user must do the following things:

• Inch the holder to be removed to station 11.

• Move the XY-table away from station 11 by hand. The holder is very difficult to

remove if the XY-table is underneath.

• Turn off the machine power.

WARNING

• Turn off the 200 V servo power before carrying out this work.

• Exercise extreme caution when working on the machine if the cam is

not at its origin (0 deg.). Recoil of the cam axis can endanger the

operator.

Removal

1. Use the hex wrench to loosen the M5 bolt on top of the holder.

2. After removing the nut, slide the holder down to remove it.
