1.7 Cleaning the Tapered Clutches at Nozzle Rotation
Axes (Every Month)
Point
Following extended periods of operation, the tapered clutches at the nozzle rotation axes
can become spattered with grease, etc., from the machine, causing the clutches to slip. A
slipping clutch makes it difficult to rotate and position a nozzle at the proper mounting
angle. The clutches should therefore be cleaned regularly, using the grease cleaner
(ThreeBond 2706) provided with the machine.
Procedure
WARNING
• Turn off the 200 V servo power before carrying out this work.
• Exercise extreme caution when working on the machine if the cam is
not at its origin (0 deg.). Recoil of the cam axis can endanger the
operator.
Pull the outer shaft of the nozzle rotation axis downward, then wipe the tapered clutch
clean using a cloth which has been wetted with grease cleaner.
Note: Do not spray the grease cleaner directly on the tapered clutch because the cleaner could
land on other parts as well, removing their lubricant.

1.8 Control Box Air Filter Cleaning (Every Month)
Point
If the air filter is clogged the effectiveness of the cooling fan will be reduced, and the
temperature in the control box will rise. If the machine is operated in this condition there
is a danger that the servo amplifiers and VME board will not function correctly.
In order to prevent clogging, clean off dust and dirt every month.

1.9 Cleaning the Filter Regulator (Every Week)
Point
The air flowing within the pneumatic piping needs to be clean at all times.
A dirty filter element may make it impossible to supply clean air and lead to equipment
breakdown.
Procedure
WARNING
Turn off the main power before carrying out this procedure.
Release all compressed air from the air system.
1. Close the air intake valve to disconnect the external compressed air source.
2. Release the compressed air from the machine air lines.
Disconnect the air hose and slowly open the valve to release the compressed air.
3. Close the valve lever again when the air has been fully expelled.
