Safety
This chapter contains warnings of particular risks that may occur
during maintenance of the inspection system.
Follow these safety requirements:
Before any maintenance or repair work, always at least set the
inspection systems into STOP mode or better, switch off the
system completely; secure against restart and post warning
signs.
During the STOP mode, some system components still carry
current; these are indicated by warning signs.
Only qualified personnel are allowed to perform any kind of
work on the electrical equipment. When any work is done, all
applicable and local safety requirements must be observed.
Any work on live electrical components is forbidden.
If safety-relevant parts are changed (for example, mains
switch, transformers, light bulbs of warning lamps or fuses),
only replace them with original parts.
After each exchange of safety-relevant components, carry out a
safety inspection.
Do not use corrosive cleaning solutions in the interior of the
inspection system.
Even when the system is switched off, the high voltage power
line may still remain charged (capacitive load).
The UPS can still supply a voltage of 230 V; take appropriate
protective measures.
The X-ray output window of the sealed X-ray tube consists of
beryllium. After dismantling the tube a protective cover has to
be attached to this window in order to prevent contact with
beryllium. The tube may only be removed by trained specialists
or by Viscom AG service technicians.
Before the system is started after maintenance work or trouble-
shooting, make sure the AXI track is not under the open lift
gate. Closing the lift gate then can cause serious damage to the
system.

Maintenance schedule
Maintenance is an essential preventative measure to maintain
operating safety and prolong the inspection system life span. It
should not be neglected in any way.
The maintenance schedule is divided into:
Maintenance by operating personnel (Page 171)
Maintenance by trained personnel (Page 171)
Maintenance by operating personnel
Maintenance by trained personnel
NOTICE
Any kind of calibration, including grayscale value calibration may
only be done by personnel who have attended Viscom calibration
training, see „Training“ (Page 15).
