Lubricating the runner blocks - AOI
To ensure smooth functioning of the transport system, the posi-
tioning units and the width adjustment, grease the guide carriages
regularly.
The following sections describe how to lubricate the runner blocks:
Transport system AOI
Lubricating the AOI runner blocks
Transport system AOI
The following illustration indicates the position of the runner blocks
to be lubricated in the AOI transport section of the inspection
system:
AOI runner block
Grease the runner blocks in the AOI section through the 6M funnel
grease nipples.

Lubricating the AOI runner blocks
Required: Lubricating grease KP2K, NLGI class 2 according to DIN 51818

X-axis runner
block
WARNING
Hazard of injury
Turn off the system and secure it against accidental restart
before starting lubrication.
Perform the following work steps:
1. Stand in front of the inspection system and open the front lift
door.
2. Check guide carriage and guide rails for contamination; clean if
required.
3. Grease the four X-axis guide carriages from above through the
PCB support. Open access to the AOI transport track to reach
the four lube nipples on the PCB support with the grease gun.

4. Grease the guide carriages through the lube nipples on the PCB
support with 1.4 cm3 lubricant.
5. Move the runner blocks back and forth with three double
strokes; the distance should be equal to at least three times
the length of a runner block.
6. Check if there is a visible grease layer on the guide rails.

Lubricating the
Y-axis runner
blocks
Perform the following work steps:
1. Check guide carriage and guide rails for contamination; clean if
required.
2. Grease the two front runner blocks through the funnel grease
nipples; use 1.4 cm

grease.
3. Move the Y-axis completely to the front.
The funnel grease nipples of the two rear guide carriages on
the Y-axis can now be reached.
