Inspection system X7056 | Operating manual |
Version 3.1 Rev.006| 2016-01-06 | 30.009.1930a
The operating manual must always be kept in the immediate
vicinity of the inspection system to allow permanent access.
Unregulated access by persons not required for operation to the
immediate operating area of the system - also in situations
when the system is not operating - is forbidden.
If there is a danger of fire, switch off the system and pull out
the main cable plug.
Responsibilities of the Operating Company
The operating company has the following responsibilities:
Only trained and authorized personnel may be employed on the
system.
The operating personnel must be properly instructed.
The setup persons must regularly receive schooling.
Observance of all safety requirements must be monitored.
Corresponding responsibilities for all work on the system must
be known and be clearly defined, and their observance must be
monitored.

Remaining Dangers
This chapter warns of potential dangers that could not be
prevented by system construction. The remaining dangers are
arranged and described according to danger area. The corre-
sponding hazard areas are indicated by warning labels on the
inspection system.
It contains the following sections:
Electrical hazards (Page 22)
Mechanical Dangers (Page 22)
Thermal hazards (Page 22)
Hazardous Light Radiation (Page 23)
Hazardous magnetism (Page 23)
Chemical hazard (Page 23)
Electrical hazards
The following safety instructions must be observed:
After the EMERGENCY STOP button is actuated, the UPS
devices still maintain a voltage of 230 V; take appropriate
protective measures.
The service outlet continues to carry current even after the
STOP mode has been actuated.
Mechanical Dangers
The following safety instructions must be observed:
The system is not designed for manual loading. It must be
loaded by suitable infeed components (such as transport
conveyors) which are covered to prevent manual access.
Do not reach into the transport track when adjusting the width
manually.
Thermal hazards
The following safety instructions must be observed:
The motors for the transport system clamping can reach a
temperature of 70 °C.

Hazardous Light Radiation
The following safety instructions must be observed:
Redirected LED radiation from the risk group 2 LEDs used in
the camera module exists in the area of the side openings of
the system. There is a hazard of injury to the eyesight when
the openings are not protected by a suitable covering or in-
/outfeed components.
If the housing of the camera head is opened during mainte-
nance work, protective glasses must be worn.
There is a hazard of injury to the eyesight in the area of the
right side opening and when the rear door is opened or closed,
due to the laser class 1 LEDs in the front part of the system
between the AOI and AXI transport tracks and to the right of
the AXI transport track.
Fiber optic cables with a light that is invisible to the human eye
are used for the data transmission between sensor head and
system computer. For safety reasons do not look into the fiber
optic cable openings with naked eyes or other optical devices.
Hazardous magnetism
The following safety instructions must be observed:
The positioning unit contains strong permanent magnets. The
magnetic field of the magnetic track is very strong and can
disrupt the operation of life-sustaining medical devices (e.g.
heart pacemakers); compliance with the BGV B11 (German
Federal Association of Health and Consumer Information) is
required.
Chemical hazard
The X-ray output window of the sealed X-ray tube consists of
beryllium. The following safety specifications must be met when
using the sealed X-ray tube:
Only persons who have previously been trained to work with
Beryllium and its compounds are allowed to use this inspection
system.
For open handling, avoid all contact.
Wear protective gloves according to EN 388.
Pay attention to cleanliness at the workplace.
Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling beryllium.
It is forbidden to handle beryllium mechanically (sawing,
drilling, grinding, etc.)
Contact a doctor immediately if you think you came into
contact with beryllium or if you feel ill and tell him you have
handled beryllium.
