2 Brief description
Every Collect&Place head has a separate vacuum generator that supplies the holding and place-
ment circuit with the vacuum that it needs.
The vacuum generator for the placement heads works according to the Venturi principle. In com-
bination with a vacuum pump, the compressed air consumption can be significantly reduced for the
SIPLACE SpeedStar (C&P20x). The ongoing operating costs are reduced according to the energy
costs.
NOTICE
Maximum of two SIPLACE C&P20x
This vacuum pump can supply a maximum of two SIPLACE C&P20x. If using a SIPLACE
X4S / X4iS with four SIPLACE C&P20x, you therefore need two vacuum pumps. These
vacuum pumps are fitted at locations 1 and 4, behind the COT inserts in the machine base.
NOTICE
Conversion
If you need to convert a gantry from SIPLACE C&P20x to SIPLACE Twin or SIPLACE CPP,
you must re-establish the original compressed air supply for this gantry. That means, you
must perform a conversion reversal on all assemblies for this gantry.
NOTICE
Partial conversion
Partial conversion of the pneumatic unit, for example, involving disconnection of the gantry
hoses (additional vacuum hoses) during compressed air operations, can lead to serious
placement machine malfunctions.
NOTICE
Retrofitting
If you need to convert a gantry from SIPLACE Twin or SIPLACE CPP to SIPLACE C&P20x
with vacuum function, you must retrofit the vacuum equipment for this gantry.
NOTICE
Compressed air operation
If you operate a C&P20x which has been converted for vacuum operation at a gantry with
compressed air, this could lead to serious damage to the placement head if the silicon
hoses to the segments should loosen.
NOTICE
Folded hoses
Make sure that the hoses are never folded or pinched, not even during unpacking, as this
makes them unsuitable for further use.
NOTICE
SIPLACE C&P20P/P2 usually with vacuum
If the SIPLACE C&P20P/P2 is to be used on a machine in compressed air mode (Venturi),
the head must be converted with the "Conversion kit compressed air operation SIPLACE
C&P20P" [03106765-xx].
For a conversion reversal from compressed air mode back to vacuum pump mode, you
need the "Aperture ring assembly C&P20P [03116883-xx].

2.1 Scope of delivery
The following tables show the parts needed, depending on machine type, configuration and old/
new version of the vacuum pump.
The tables show the maximum of necessary packages (conversion and upgrade kits) which are re-
quired for the conversion of SIPLACE C&P20x with vacuum operation on all gantries.
The quantity of required packages is reduced depending on the head configuration.
NOTICE
Replace old with new vacuum pump
To replace an old vacuum pump with a new one please read chapter 4 "Replace-
ment" [}167].
From machine no. H2500G/S upwards only new vacuum pumps were installed.

This package is required if a SIPLACE C&P20x is installed in placement area 1.
