4.2 Checking the drive pulley of Forward/Backward-axis
1
Turn the machine off.
2
Move the handler to the position
where it is easy to work.
1. Open a side door, then move the handler
a little upper from the middle on Y-axis so
that it is easy to work.
2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.
3. Rotate the handler to face it parallel to
X-axis.
3
Check if the drive pulley is fixed
securely.
Use a hex wrench (2 mm) to check if two
setscrews fixing the drive pulley and the
motor are tighten securely.
n
NOTE
Check two setscrews by moving the handler on
Forward/Backward-axis by hands.
4

1
Turn the machine off.
2
Move the handler to the position
where it is easy to work.
1. Open a side door, then move the handler
a little upper from the middle on Y-axis so
that it is easy to work.
2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.
3. Rotate the handler to face it parallel to
X-axis.
3
Move Forward/Backward-axis to
middle of its guide.
Move Forward/Backward-axis by hands so
that it comes to middle of the guide.
4
Check the tension of Forward/
Backward-axis belt.
Push Forward/Backward-axis belt sideward
by fingers softly.
The tension which the belt moves 8 to 10 mm
with is appropriate.
If the belt doesn't move easily or it moves
too much, adjust the belt tension by the
following procedure.
n
Adjust the tension of Forward/Backward-axis belt
1
Loosen the bolts fixing the tension
pulley.
Use a wrench (7 mm) to loosen two bolts
fixing the tension pulley.
2
Adjust the belt tension.
1. If the belt tension is low, move the
tension pulley to front in the figure, in the
direction to stretch the belt.
If the belt tension is high, move the
tension pulley to rear in the figure, in the
direction to loosen the belt.
2. Tighten the bolts fixing the tension pulley.
3
Check the belt tension.
Follow Step3 in "Checking the tension of
Forward/Backward-axis belt" to check the
belt tension.

where it is easy to work.
1. Open a side door, then move the handler
a little upper from the middle on Y-axis so
that it is easy to work.
2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.
