4.6 Cleaning and greasing Rotation-axis gear

Turn the machine off.

Move the handler to the position
where it is easy to work.
1. Open a side door, then move the handler
a little upper from the middle on Y-axis so
that it is easy to work.
2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.

Clean the round gear and the drive
gear
Use cleaning wiper with a little IPA to clean
the round gear and the drive gear of
Rotation-axis.

Clean the carrier wheels.
Use cleaning paper with a little IPA or cotton
swabs to clean four carrier wheels of
Rotation-axis.
Clean whole circumference of the wheels
by rotating the handler on Rotation-axis a
little.

CAUTION
Clean only the parts of wheels which touch in the rail.Be
careful not to put alcohol on bearing parts of the
wheels.

Apply the grease on the round gear
and the drive gear
Apply the specified grease (AFB grease) on
the round gear and the drive gear by hands.

CAUTION
Do not apply the grease on the carrier wheels.

Spread the grease.
pread the grease smoothly by rotating the
handler on Rotation-axis by hands some-
times.

Wipe out the over-spread grease
Visually check the round gear and the drive
gear, and wipe out the over-spread grease.

Move the handler to Initialization
standby position.
Move the handler to Initialization standby

a little upper from the middle on Y-axis so
that it is easy to work.
2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.

Check if the drive gear is tighten
securely.
Use a hex wrench (2 mm) to check if two
setscrews fixing the motor and the drive
gear are tighten securely.

NOTE
Check two setscrews with rotating the handler a little
on Rotation-axis.

Move the handler to Initialization
standby position.
Move the handler to Initialization standby
position by hands.

4.8 Cleaning the reel sensors on the handler

Move the handler to the position
where it is easy to work.

2. Move the handler to either end of X-axis
by hands.

Clean the reel sensors on the
handler.
Use dry soft cloth to clean the surfaces of
the reel sensors on the handler.

CAUTION
Do not use alcohol for cleaning sensors and reflectors.
Using alcohol may damage sensors and reflectors

position by hands.
TIP
There are three reel sensors on the handler, two are for
7 inch, one is for 15 inch.
Since the sensor might miss-detect due to the slit of
reels, two sensors try to detect reels.
