What is the purpose of X-Feeder
ID Association?
For X-Feeders, no scanning
is required when it is being
in used online (COT in
machine or docking station
that has EDIF connection).
However, when the Feeder
is being used in offline area
(this generally means no
EDIF communication
connection), user can
quickly scan the Feeder
The Feeder ID association is
primary design for old
X-Feeder where the 2D
SIPLACE Barcode on the
side of Feeder does not
contain any Feeder ID
information. It only contains
Part Number and Serial
Number.

Barcode to trigger certain
action instead of manually
keying in the Feeder ID. And
below are some of the
example of such cases:
a. Assigning a Feeder to a
Storage Shelf (no EDIF
communication
connection)
b. Marking a Feeder
Defective
c. Call out the particular
Feeder Data in FM Client
(using a USB wired
barcode scanner)
EDIF connection) and Part
Number + Serial Number as
1 set of information. Such
that when user scan the
SIPLACE barcode, it know
which Feeder ID is being call
out from the FM DB.
For X-Feeder, Feeder
Manager is using the Feeder
ID as a unique feeder
identification such that user
do not need to print out
additional barcode. And this
Feeder ID is also use to
identified each feeders when
communicate via EDIF so no
manual scanning is required.
Could I use the X-Feeder ID
Association if I have swap
control board between feeders?
No, X-Feeder ID Association
is never being design to
cover such a requirement.
The reason for not supporting
such requirement is that each
control board contain all the
mechanical setting and
adjustment information of
each individual feeder.
Therefore, it is forbidden to
change the control board
between the feeders. The
accuracy of the feeders will
be affected when such an
action is being carried out.
