The machine must be in emergency stop to
ensure safety during work.

Remove the grease spattering
prevention cover.
1. Use the hex wrench to remove the four
bolts securing the rear side of the grease
spattering prevention cover.
2. Move the head all the way to the rear
side and remove the six bolts securing
the front side of the grease spattering
prevention cover.
3. Remove the grease spattering prevention
cover by pulling it to the front.

TIP
When reattaching the Y-axis grease spattering
prevention cover, use the reverse order of the above
procedure.

Clean the ball screws.
1. Using the handle, move the head to one
end of each axis.
2. Wipe away the old grease and dirt from
the ball screw with a lint-free cloth or
paper towel (for clean room use).
3. Move the head to the opposite end of
each axis and wipe the ball screw clean.

CAUTION
Wipe away the old grease and dirt in the lead groove
of the ball screw. Also check that no debris or residue
remains in the lead groove.

Apply grease to the ball screws.
Use the grease gun to supply the specified
grease (NSL) to the grease nipples. (one
each on the left and right sides) Then move
the head back and forth by hand along
each axis and wipe away excess grease.

Reattach the covers.
Reattach the grease spattering prevention
covers in the reverse order of the removal
procedures.

Clean the guides.
1. Move the head (or conveyor rails) to one
end of its axis, and wipe away the old
grease and dirt from the guides with a
lint-free cloth or paper towel.
2. Move the head (or conveyor rails) to the
opposite side of its axis and wipe the
guides.

CAUTION
Wipe away thoroughly the old grease in the grooves of
the guide rails.

Apply new grease to the guide rails.
Use the grease gun to supply the specified
grease (NSL) to the Y-axis linear guide
grease nipples. The grease nipples are
located on the front and back sides of the
slider on each Y-axis linear guide (total of 4
places).
Attach the grease gun nozzle to the grease
gun so that the grease gun nozzle can be
aligned with the angle of the grease nipples.

CAUTION
When injecting grease from the bent type grease
nipples on the front and back sides of the Y-axis, align
the grease gun nozzle with the angle of the grease
nipple. If not aligned, the grease nipple may be
damaged or may come loose and fall off. Carefully
align the grease gun with the grease nipple.

Remove excess grease.
After moving the head (or conveyor rails)
back and forth a few times along their axes,
wipe away excess grease.

3. Six-month inspection
3.1 Cleaning the base section filter

Turn off the machine power.
End the software, and turn the machine
power switch to OFF.

Remove the cover.
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the
screws securing the lower right cover on
the back of the machine.
2. Remove the cover.

Remove the filter unit.
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the
two screws securing the filter unit.
2. Pull out the filter unit.

Clean the filter unit.
1. Suction up any dirt accumulated in the
filter by using a vacuum assembly
(option) or a mini-vacuum cleaner.
2. Proceed to step 6 if there is no problem
with the cleaned filter.

Replace the filter.
If the dirt and grime on the filter could not
be removed in step 4 or the filter is broken or
damaged, replace it with a new filter.
Using a Phillips (+) screwdriver, remove the
screws for the plate enclosing the filter as
shown in the figure on the right and replace
it with a new filter.

Reattach the filter unit.
Reinstall the filter unit back in its original
position using the reverse of the procedure
in steps 2 to 3.
