Step Procedure (Negative Test)
Negative test is used to rotate all components to 180 degree and
reinspect the program. Therefore, the rotated component should
show "failed as polarity" to prove that the program has detected
the polarity defect. There are four steps to complete the
orientation negative test which are:
● Run "Negative Test" under inspect button.
● Analysis negative test inspection result.
● Fine tune escapee component.
● Ensure no escapee component in final result.

Select negative test under inspect button and run the negative test.
SmartG will start the inspection of negative test.

After running the negative test, an
inspection result shows in the
negative test which include:
● Total component inspected
● Negative test summary
● Negative test result
● Test result summary

Hence, the components that fall into the escapee
category are able to detect the polarity defect.
Fine-tune the components that fall into the escapee
category until it shows 0 escapee. Select a reference
designator under the negative test result, and right-click
to edit device.
Note: When clicking at the reference designator, it navigates
camera view to the component.
