1. Precautionary Items before Maintenance
This session describes how to perform inspections, cleaning, lubrica-
tion, and adjustment to keep the machine in good shape.
It is recommended that periodic maintenance of the machine should
be ensured.
1. Precautionary Items before Maintenance
0509-002 Chapter 3 1-2
Only qualified personnel should perform the maintenance work
carefully for the machine in compliance with the specified instructions.
Wrong handling of the machine will cause not only incorrect printing
but also personal injuries.
Before performing any maintenance work, be sure to lock the power
breaker and the air source with padlocks.
Power Breaker: Set the power breaker to the "OFF" side and lock it
with a padlock.
Air Source : Stop the air supply and set the main valve to the
"SHUT" side. After that, be sure to lock it with a
padlock.
Designate a person who can have charge of the padlock key.

2. Preparation before Maintenance
2. Preparation before Maintenance
2.1 Preparation for Cleaning Tools
Brush
Use a brush whose bristles do not come off if possible.
Rag
Use a rag (cotton, etc.) which dose not produce as less waste
thread as possible. Otherwise, the machine will break down due to
the remaining waste thread.
A clean rag is also required, depending on the spots to be
cleaned.
Oiled Rag
Use a rag (cotton, etc.) which dose not produce as less waste
thread as possible. Otherwise, the machine will break down due to
the remaining waste thread.
Air Gun
Do not use the air gun for any spots other than the specified ones.
If dirt and dust are dispersed, they adhere to various sensores and
moving parts, causing the machine to break down.

Vacuum Cleaner
If the suction hole of the vacuum cleaner is changed to a smaller
one, some spots can be cleaned more easily.
Air Blow for Camera
Use one on the market.
Container, etc.
Use a container big enough to hold water drained from the air
regulator while cleaning the regulator.
Industrial alcohol
Use the industrial alcohol described in Table 5A1 for the machine.
Table 5A1
Maker Product Name
DAN Chemical Co., Ltd Denatured Ethanol AP-7
Japan Alcohol Trading Co., Ltd SOLMIX AP-7
When the industrial alcohol in Table 5A1 is unavailable, follow the mixture
ratio in Table 5A1-1.
Table 5A1-1
Chemical Element CAS No. Mixture Ratio
Ethyl Alcohol 64-17-5 80 to 90%
Normal Propanol 71-23-8 5 to 10%
Isopropyl Alcohol 67-63-0 5% or less
Obtain the material safety data sheet (MSDS) from the maker to learn the
precautionary points on handling and check the contents described in detail
for correct use.
