Part One GL-541E Machine Operation

Introduction
Introduction
This manual is divided into five parts.
Part One, GL-541E Machine Operation, explains the basic operation, error displays, etc., of the
GL-541E.
Part Two, Automatic Operation and Programming, provides a detailed explanation of the role of
Proper data items in automatic operation, as well as the use of the glue check and block skip
functions. The information in this part is essential to understanding the use of the machine in
regular production.
Part Three, GL-541E Commands, explains the use of each of the function keys. Refer to this
section for the commands necessary to carry out a desired operation or when you do not
understand the meaning of a particular command.
Part Four, Proper Data, describes the Proper data associated with the GL-541E.
Part Five, Vision Processing, describes the functions available for inspecting fiducial marks, block
skip marks and for checking glue dots.
Part Six, Errors and Countermeasures, explains each error and what action to take in response.
Appendix A, I/O Map, lists all the I/O signals.

Chapter 1 Outline of the Machine
1. Outline of the Machine
1.1 Connecting the Power Supply
(1) Power consumption
The power consumption of the GL-541E is approximately 2 kVA. Connect the
machine to a power supply with a capacity of at least 10.0 kVA.
(2) Power cables
Use power cables with a cross-section area of at least 3.5 mm
2
. Overheating or
voltage drop may occur if the cable diameter is too small.
(3) Power connections
The hole for the power cable is in the side of the control box, which is located at the
bottom of the machine. Pass the primary 200 V AC power supply cable through this
hole. Connect the R, S, and T phases to the terminals on the top of the circuit
breaker in order from left to right. Connect the ground lead to the ground terminal.
1.2 Connecting to F4G
First, register the GL-541E in the C/C line descriptor (refer to the F4G manuals). Then
connect the communication cables to the C/C connector that was set in the line
descriptor. The connector on the GL-541E is located at the rear of the control box at the
bottom of the machine.
