Chapter 1 Outline of the Machine

1.3 Control System
The GL-541E control system is made up of a VME board, a CPU module (board loader
PLC) and a direct I/O controller.
The VME boards are inserted into the VME card rack in the compartment at the bottom
of the machine.
The CPU module (board loader PLC) is attached to the left-hand side of the control box
(the compartment on the lower left-hand side of the machine).
The direct servo controller is attached to the door of the servo box (the compartment on
the lower left-hand side of the machine).
1.3.1 VME Boards
This section describes the functions of the VME boards and how to handle them.
(1) CPU Board HIMV-134
This board is the center of the machine control system. It carries out all the
processing required to operate the machine.
The RUN LED remains lit when this board is removed from the rack.
(2) Console Board AVME-311AF
This board controls the color display on the operation panel.
(3) Vision Processing Board 4100 (2 slots)
This board performs vision processing.
(4) YENET JAMMC-EB004
This board controls the X, Y, θ, Z1, Z2, and Z3 axes.
The board converts digital speed signals from the CPU for each servomotor
into analog signals and sends these signals to the servo-amplifiers.
(5) Servo Board FH1015
This board controls the conveyor width adjustment motors and the
electropneumatic proportional valve.
(6) 6-channel Serial Board FH1016 (option)
This board communicates with LMS and the bar-code reader when HELPS
is supported.
It can also communicate with an MTU, RCU, and handy terminal.
(7) Empty
(8) VME Interface Board MX250RV01
The VME interface board is the interface board for the CPU module and the
remote I/O controller.

1.3.2 CPU Module (Board Loader PLC)
The CPU module (board loader PLC) controls the in-conveyor, main conveyor,
and out-conveyor.
1.3.3 Direct I/O Controller
The direct I/O controller, as its name implies, controls all input and output
signals directly.
