PLEASE NOTE 6
Not the following points when you insert the magazine:
→ The centering pins slide into the centering hole (item 3 in Fig. 6.1 - 5
, page 267) and into the
slot (item 4 in Fig. 6.1 - 5
, page 267).
→ The parallel pin of the slide mechanism (item 5 in Fig. 6.1 - 5
, page 267) slides into the hole
(item 6 in Fig. 6.1 - 5, page 267) in the magazine.
→ First place the side of the magazine with the numbered nozzles 1, 2, 3 and 4 on the base.
The retaining clamp (item 2 in Fig. 6.1 - 5
, page 267) must slide into the slot in the magazine.
→ Push the spring hook away from the magazine (item A in Fig. 6.1 - 5
, page 267).
→ Press the magazine so that it lies flat on the base, then release the spring hook (item 1 in Fig.
6.1 - 5
, page 267). The spring hook must latch into place.
6.1.1.8 Position detection
Every magazine of the nozzle changer has a positioning fiducial for position detection.

6.1.2 Nozzle changer for the 6-segment Collect&Place head

6.1.2.1 Description
This nozzle changer can hold up to 4 magazines, each with 6 nozzle holders. There are two types
of magazine available: magazines for type 8xx nozzles and magazines for type 9xx nozzles. The
magazines are seated on a common support. They are centered using two parallel pins and fixed
in place with clips.
Standard configuration: 3 magazines for type 9xx nozzles
1 magazine for type 8xx nozzles

→ Only install the associated nozzle changer for each placement head. There is a risk of head
crashes with mixed configurations.

One nozzle changer for the 6-segment Collect&Place head may be installed at location 2. It is set
up in place of the nozzle changer for the 12-segment Collect&Place head (item 1 in Fig. 6.1 - 2

page 263
). This gives a total capacity of 4 magazines with a total of 24 nozzle holders.
D2 placement machine 6
A nozzle changer for the 6-segment Collect&Place head may be installed at locations 1 and 2. It
is set up in place of the nozzle changer for the 12-segment Collect&Place head (item 1 in Fig. 6.1
- 3, page 264). This gives a total capacity of 2 nozzle changers with 8 magazines and a total of 48
nozzle holders.
