6.1.3 Nozzle changer for the SIPLACE Pick&Place head

6.1.3.1 Description
This nozzle changer can hold up to 10 nozzle magazines. There are two types of magazine avail-
able: standard magazines and magazines for special nozzles or grippers. The magazines are
seated on a common support. They are centered with two parallel pins and fixed in place with two
countersunk screws.
Standard configuration: 2 magazines, each for two nozzles
1 magazine for special nozzles or grippers

6.1.3.3 Position of the nozzle changer for the Pick&Place head on the D1 machine
One nozzle changer for the Pick&Place head may be installed at location 2 on the D1 machine.
Up to 10 magazines may be set up on the carrier. This gives a total capacity of up to 20 nozzle
holders.

6.1.3.4 Assembly
The nozzle changer is fixed to the machine frame at location 2 (item 1 in Fig. 6.1 - 12, page 277).
6.1.3.5 Grippers and special nozzles
The SIPLACE machines can process components based on through hole technology and odd-
shaped (OSC) components, in addition to the standard SMT spectrum. SIPLACE Company also
continuously develops special nozzles and grippers in parallel.
