Use the hook wrench to unscrew the middle machine feet roughly 135 - 145, until these are
positioned firmly on the ground.
Make sure that the middle machine feet are not unscrewed too far, otherwise they may mis-
align the placement machine.

Fig. 5.5 - 28 Aligning and locking the middle machine feet
Recheck the exact alignment of the placement machine with the machine spirit level.
Use the fork wrench SW65 to tighten the lock nut M24 (item 3).

5.5.19 Removing the Corrosion Protection from the Guide Rails
The placement machine is treated with a corrosion protection agent before delivery.

CAUTION
Reduced product life of bearings and guide rails!
If the corrosion protection agent is mixed with the bearing grease on the axes this can
greatly reduce the service life of the bearings and guide rails.
You should therefore remove the corrosion protection from all the axes and bearings
when you traverse the machine axes for the first time during commissioning.
Grease all the axes and bearings with the grease described in the maintenance in-
structions.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging bearing grease!
Alcohol will damage the bearing grease in the guide carriages.
When cleaning the guide rails and scales, make sure that alcohol does not get into
the guide trolley.

CAUTION
Before installing the SWS, make sure that the placement machine has been completely
assembled. (See section 5.5
)
WARNING
Observe the applicable accident prevention regulations!
Only ASM engineers or qualified people are permitted to set up and commission the place-
ment machine.
Always follow the applicable accident prevention regulations.
WARNING
Risk of injury during assembly work to the underside of the SWS!
All assemblies and parts can be fitted from above. There is a risk of injury during assembly
work to the underside of the machine.
During assembly or installation never lie down under the SWS.
Secure the SWS using suitable measures. The fork-lift must not be used as the only
support.
WARNING
Risk of injury during assembly work!
Incorrect positioning of gantries during assembly restricts the head clearance and could
lead to injuries.
Take care that the gantries are positioned over the board conveyor area.
WARNING
Adjusting the height of the SWS!
Two people will be needed to adjust the height of the SWS:
One person completes the required assembly work
The other person watches the stability of the raised SWS during assembly.
