2.8.2.2 Function of Switches and Buttons on the Machine
Main switch in OFF position (see item 1 in fig.
2.8 - 3) 2
The main power switch disconnects the three phases L1, L2, and L3 from the power supply.
2
Main switch in ON position 2
After switching on the main power switch, the control computer and the machine controller will
start. All supply voltages, apart from the link voltages for the gantry axes (250 VDC) and the star
axes (145 VDC) are then available.
Stop button, black (items 2 and 7 in fig. 2.8 - 3 and items 3 and 5 in fig. 2.8 - 4) 2
These buttons are used to stop the machine.
Start button, white (items 3 and 6 in fig. 2.8 - 3 and items 2 and 4 in fig. 2.8 - 4) 2
After switching on the main power switch you will be prompted to press the start button in order to
start the machine for placement jobs. The same prompt appears if you open the protective covers
or the press the EMERGENCY STOP button.
Component counter (item 4 in fig. 2.8 - 3) 2
This displays the number of inserted components.
DANGER
Lethal voltages!
Incorrect handling of the machine can therefore result in death or severe injury or consid-
erable damage to equipment.
The following components still carry potentially lethal voltages even if the main power
switch is switched off:
Cable connection terminals L1, L2, and L3 of the Q1 main power switch
Z1 line filter
Service socket X102
F1 automatic circuit breaker for the service socket
The color of all individual wires, which still carry potentially lethal voltages even if the
main power switch is switched off, is brown.
Always follow the applicable accident prevention and DIN regulations (particularly EN
60204, part 1 or IEC 60204, part 1) and the applicable regulations in your own coun-
try.
The safety door to the power supply must ONLY be opened by appropriately qualified
and trained personnel.

EMERGENCY STOP button, latching, with override protection in accordance with EN 418
(item 5 in fig.
2.8 - 3 and item 1 in fig. 2.8 - 4) 2
The EMERGENCY STOP button is red and latches in the ON position when pressed. When you
press the EMERGENCY STOP button, the switching contact of the EMERGENCY STOP circuit
opens and the protective contactor combination (SSK K6) trips. The link voltage (250 VDC) for the
gantry axes and the link voltage (145 VDC) for the star axes is switched off. The servo amplifiers
for the DP and Z axes are still supplied with 40 VDC. The signaling contact of the EMERGENCY
STOP button opens and the message "EMERGENCY STOP pressed" appears on the screen.
The following modules are deactivated:
PCB conveyor
PCB clamping
Width adjustment
PCB stopper
Used tape cutter

Button for docking and undocking the component trolley 2
There are two buttons on the input and output sides of the machine for docking the component
trolley in or out.
Button (item 6 in fig. 2.8 - 4
) for docking and undocking the component trolley at location 1
Button (item 8 in fig. 2.8 - 3
) for docking and undocking the component trolley at location 2
Button (item 9 in fig. 2.8 - 3
) for docking and undocking the component trolley at location 3
Button (item 7 in fig. 2.8 - 4
) for docking and undocking the component trolley at location 4
The component trolleys can only be docked in if the protective covers are closed.
PLEASE NOTE
Placement is interrupted and can then either be continued or canceled once the machine
is working correctly again.
PLEASE NOTE
After the EMERGENCY STOP button has been pressed on the machine, the SWS will
switch off.

Protective cover switch 1, 2, 3 and 4 (items 1, 2, 3 and 4 in fig. 2.8 - 5) and protective cover for
the cover flaps on the input and output sides of the PCB conveyor (items 5 and 6 in fig.
2.8 - 5)2
These switches check whether the protective covers and the cover flaps are closed. When they
are closed, the EMERGENCY STOP contact and the signaling contact are closed. If one of the
covers or the cover flaps is opened, the EMERGENCY STOP contact and the signaling contact
open. Individual components are disabled or remain enabled (see fig. 2.8 - 8
, page 95).

2.8.2.3 Function of Switches and Buttons on the SWS
EMERGENCY STOP button, latching, with override protection according to EN 418 2
The EMERGENCY STOP button is red and latches in the ON position when pressed. When you
press the EMERGENCY STOP button, the switching contact of the EMERGENCY STOP loop
opens. Both SIPLACE and SWS EMERGENCY STOP circuit are interrupted. The corresponding
EMERGENCY STOP switching devices switch the contactors off (delayed by 500 ms).
The operating status indicator (white) is switched off.
The EMERGENCY STOP message is displayed. The SIPLACE detects the location where the
EMERGENCY STOP button was pressed.
To reset the EMERGENCY STOP at the SWS, the EMERGENCY STOP button on the SWS must
be released. The EMERGENCY STOP circuit of the SIPLACE must be closed (protective covers
closed) and one of the start buttons on the SIPLACE must be pressed.
PLEASE NOTE
Opening the SIPLACE cover leads to an EMERGENCY STOP of the SWS.
