4.1.4 Setting board data of component tape
After completing setting up the feeder on the machine main body, set the tape feed pitch in the board data
on the machine main body.

Check the component tape feed pitch.
Check the component tape feed pitch prior to the operation.

Call up the [Parts] – [Basic] screen.
Read out the board data. Call up the [Parts] – [Basic] tab screen.

Specify the “Package”.
Select the components to specify the parameters for. Pull down “D. Package” and select “Tape”.

4.1.5 Disposing of used cover tape and carrier tape
As a daily routine, dispose of the used cover tape and carrier tape from time to time.

Disposing of used cover tape
As a result of mounting components on the production operation, the cover tape accumulates inside of
feeder. The feeder tail cover is catched with magnet, so the accumulation of tape in the feeder excesses
its capacity, that the tail cover is pushed and opened automatically illustrated below. Though, the
periodical inspection and disposing the used cover tape before opening of tail cover is recommended.
TIP
As to 8mm feeder, the tail cover opens when the accumulation reaches approximately of two 7-inch tape reels of 8mm.
