4.1.8 Detaching component tape from feeder

NOTE
Always use a temporary tape set station (or a power station, if equipped) to detach the tape. Make sure to prevent
essentially to detach tape from tape feeder on feeder exchange carriage already attached to mounter, as a component
tape may fall inside of mounter upon working.

Set the feeder on the temporary tape set station.
1. Set the feeder on the temporary tape set station.
2. Set the tape reel on the reel holder of the temporary tape set station.
TIP
Upon detaching the component tape, it can be set to the set position without connector.

Dispose of the used cover tape.
Open the feeder tail cover and check if the used cover tape remains.
Dispose of the cover tape when appropriate.

See "4.1.5 Disposing of used cover tape and carrier tape" in this chapter for the detailed procedure.

Pull out the cover tape.
Press the take-up roller lever to make a clearance under the take-up roller. Then pull out the cover
tape from the clearance.

CAUTION
Do not pull out the cover tape forcibly. Otherwise the tape guide assembly is deformed. Pull out slowly and with care the
carrier tape and cover tape. The pulling out forcibly causes the coming off the cover tape and falling off the components.

Pull out component tape from feeder.
1. Pull out the component tape from the insertion slot at rear of feeder.
2. Rotate the tape reel to roll up the component tape.

Fix tape guide assembly with tape guide front lever to clamp it.

CAUTION
Upon clamping the tape guide assembly, the squeezing of tape guide assembly into the tape guide front lever may wear
the claw of tape guide front lever. Make sure to lift up the tape guide front lever and then engage the claws of tape guide
assembly and tape guide front lever to clamp the tape guide assembly.
