7.6 Test Component
7.6.1 “Test component” Flow Diagram
The flow diagram “Test component” shows all menu options with their subfunctions in diagrammatic form. The
menus are emphasized by being enclosed by a bold line, dialog boxes by a dashed line, and option boxes by
a dotted line.
7.6.2 Explanation of the Flow Diagram
7.6.2.1 Menus
In the menus the individual options are arranged vertically. A total of six menus are available:

Vision system
–
Test component
–
Change measure mode
–
Edit GF data
–
Save GF data
–
Display error
The menu “Save GF data” will pop up every time you want to quit the menu “Test component” and after having
created or modified GF data. You are given the choice of saving or discarding the GF data which have been
determined.
As can be seen from the flow diagram, the menu system is structured hierarchically. You can quit the individ-
ual menus by pressing the “ESC” key. You are then returned to the preceding menu.
7.6.2.2 Dialog Boxes
For entering data, displaying values and initiating actions the system offers the following dialog boxes:

Enter component number
–
Program transformation table
–
Change measure results

You can quit the dialog boxes by pressing the keys “RETURN” or “ESC”.
–
When “RETURN” is pressed the data are transferred to the program and saved. The boxes disappear. You
are returned to the starting menu.
–
When “ESC” is pressed, the data are discarded. The starting menu reappears on the screen.
7.6.2.3 Option Box (80F machine only)
For option selection the system offers the following option box:

Select component type.
The option box may be quit with the “ESC” or “RETURN” key.

When “RETURN” is pressed the data are transferred to the program and saved. The boxes disappear. You
are returned to the starting menu.

When “ESC” is pressed the data are discarded. The starting menu reappears on the screen.
7.6.2.4 Video Images
With certain actions the camera image of the MVS system (evaluation unit) will be displayed on the screen of
the station computer. In addition, the following lines are inserted in the top and bottom lines of the image:

The top line contains for example the currently selected menu option, the GF number, evaluation criteria,
measurement results and so on.
–
In the bottom lines you will find command sequences, keyboard commands, camera coordinates and so on
displayed.
You can always quit the video image with the “ESC” key. The corresponding menu window then reappears.
7.6.2.5 Messages
Messages are text boxes which contain information on actions, warnings and so on. They pop up
–
when there are inadvertent wrong operations.
–
when the use is asked to perform certain actions (e.g. Enter component number).
–
to advise (e.g. Component being disposed of).
–
to inform that the system is performing an action that will take some time (e.g. GF data are being restored).
