Setting the pitch index (feed pitch) of component tape
As described on the previous page, the tape feeder pitch is normally set up the on the board data screen.
Based on the setting on the machine main body, however, the “Feeder setup” that the feeder memorizes tape
feed pitch is also available. The following describes the procedure of setting the "Reference of feeder pitch" to
“Feeder setup”.
n
NOTE
To activate “Feeder setting”, you have to go to “Machine” – “Option” – “Implementation” – “Specify feeder pitch”
and then set it to “Feeder setting”. (Normally, “Specify feeder pitch” is specified in “Board data”.) Note that this
changes one of the machine data setting items. Accessing such parameters requires the administrator level of
authority.
The feeder setting has two ways for the above – One is using the temporary tape set station or the power station
for off-line setup to send the parameter to the feeder to let it memorize the tape feed pitch and the other is
sending the parameter from the mounter main body to do so.
n
Method to memorize tape feed pitch at each station
The following describes the procedure for setting a tape feed pitch using the temporary tape set station or
power station for the off-line setup.
1
Check the tape feed pitch of the component tape.
Check the tape feed pitch of the component tape in advance.
2
Set the feeder.
Set the feeder in the extreme left set position of the temporary tape set station / the power station for
off-line setup.
3
Check the tape feed pitch of the feeder.
The tape feed pitch is indicated on the display as shown below.

Check the tape feed operation.
Press the “FUNC” and “FEED” buttons simultaneously to confirm that the component tape moves at the
specified feed pitch.
TIP
If setting a ZS feeder in the temporary tape set station / the power station for off-line setup, pressing “FUNC” and
“FEED” buttons simultaneously does not necessarily feed the tape according to the set component tape feed pitch.
See the item describing the setting of tape feed pitch in "4.1.1 Setting component tape" in this chapter.

CAUTION
When returning the component to the standby position, make sure to press the [BACK] button more than twice and
then press the [FEED] button to align the component with the standby position. If pressing the [Back] button once or
aligning the standby position by the [Back] button, pickup position offset of the fist component will occur.
