MTS
An abbreviation for Matrix Tray Server
While MTC supplies components with shuttle, MTS pulls out the tray into the
equipment and the head of the equipment directly picks up and places components. If
MTS is mounted, it occupies all feeder banks on the rear side, preventing other feeders
from being set on the rear side.
The JX-350 is applicable only to the TR5SNX. To mount the TR5SNX, dedicated
mounting unit is required. This is a factory-set option, and it shall be selected prior to
shipment.

Nozzle
A nozzle is a jig to be used when the head picks up and place a component.
During production, each head goes to the ATC to get a nozzle that fits each component
(picking surface), and using that nozzle, the head picks up and places the component.
Note that optional screw type nozzle is attached to the head beforehand and the head
does not go to the ATC to get a nozzle during production.

OCC
An abbreviation for Offset Correction Camera.
This camera performs teaching of BOC mark, and teaching of recognition, placement
and pick-up positions.

Off-line (Not supported in JX-350)
Off-line means a state of the system currently not under communication of computer.
•
On-demand production (Not supported in JX-350)
On-demand production (On-Demand) means a system to automatically switch the
production program by reading the PWB ID (one-dimensional barcode/two-dimensional
code) by machine at loading a PWB.

On-line (Not supported in JX-350)
On-line means a state of the system currently under direct control of computer. The
ONLINE button is provided on the front cover, and it lights up when connection is made
with IS, indicating that the equipment can communicate with the personal computer.
•
Origin
Origin means the starting point, or the program origin in the information processing
science. The JX-350 has an ORIGIN button on the monitor screen, and pressing this
button will execute an origin return action. Alternatively, a term "initialization" is used in
MTC and MTS.
•
Origin return
Origin return is an action to detect the coordinate origin (X, Y), the origin (zero phase) of
head (Z, θ). Execution of this function supplies the servo current to each motor (X, Y, Z,
θ). In other word, production or other operations that use the HOD are not available
without execution of this action.
Normally, immediately after power supply is turned on, an announcement is issued and
this action is performed. If it is ignored, then use the ORIGIN button to execute this
action.

Pick Data
Pick Data is the place to save the information on the picking position at which each
component is to be set. The accurate pick position is obtained by "Coordinate teaching"
using [Teaching] of the function bar.

Picking
Picking means a series of action for the head to take a component from the tape or tray
in such a manner that the head moves to the picking position, and then picks up the
component by means of vacuuming, which is the reason why it is called picking.

Pin reference (Not supported in JX-350)
“Pin reference” is a board transport mechanism as well as “Shape reference,” and one of
methods for fixing a board. It is a kind of fixing method for production by fixing the
PWB with a pin. Basically, two pins (called the reference pin and the follower pin),
which are provided for standard, are inserted to a PWB that has two holes with the
diameter of 4 mm in order to fix the PWB.

Pitch
Pitch basically indicates the dimension from a center to another center of something to
be viewed. For a lead pitch, enter the X, Y dimensions of the center of a lead to the
center of the adjacent lead, and for a pitch between circuits, enter that of the center of a
circuit to the center of the adjacent circuit.
•
Placement
A series of actions made by the head to move the picked up component onto the PWB
and to put the component on the given position of PWB is called placement.
•
Placement data
Based on the PWB origin, which has been set by the previous PWB data, the
information on a placement point is entered in this placement data. The accurate
placement position can be obtained by "Coordinate teaching" using [Teaching] of the
function bar.
•
Placement station
A PWB positioning section. This is a unit that fixes a printed wiring board to the given
position.
•
PLCC
An abbreviation for Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier. Also expressed as QFJ.
A component with J-shaped leads each on four sides. Components of this type are
suitable for automatic placement owing to its high lead position accuracy and resistance
to deformation.
•
Program (production program)
This is an aggregation of commands and mounting position data to mount electronic
components on a printed wiring board.

PWB data
In the PWB data, enter the recognition method when BOC marks are used, and PWB
information such as PWB home position. When BOC marks are used, the information
on marks is transmitted to the machine by "Recognition teaching" using [Teaching] of the
function bar.
•
PWB origin (the coordinate origin)
PWB origin is the origin to develop a BOC mark, a placement center position and so on.
Although we do not have any specified position for the PWB origin, it should be basically
placed on the PWB. If CAD data is present, the CAD origin will be the PWB origin on
the program. The coordinate system basically takes the left-hand direction as −X, the
right-hand direction as +X, the upward direction as +Y, and the downward direction as −Y
viewed from the origin.

QFP
QFP (Quad Flat Package) means a component of gull-wing shape with leads in four
directions. The lead pitch is more shortened as the number of pins increases. It is
featured by that it is a small package suitable for products with a number of required
leads and that appearance inspection of solder connections is easy.
•
S-VCS (Not supported in JX-350)
S-VCS (Scanning Vision Centering System) is vision recognition control in which the
head picking up a component is moved in the X direction on VCS to perform vision
centering. Higher-speed recognition can be attained as compared with the existing
vision recognition.
•
Shape reference
In JX-350, the shape reference is a mechanism related to transport attached to the
mounter as standard, being a PWB fixing method like the pin reference.
Basically, it is used for the purpose of fixing a PWB that does not have a hole for pin
insertion.
Incidentally, both pin reference and shape reference cannot be used simultaneously.
•
SOJ
SOJ (Small Outline J-bend Package) means a component of J-bend shape with leads in
two directions. It is featured by high resistance of leads against deformation, easy
handling, and low thermal resistance.
•
SOP
SOP (Small Outline Package) means a component of gull-wing shape with leads in two
directions. The features are: small size, small mounting area on PWB, easy visual
inspection of soldered connections and also easy correction with soldering iron.
•
Square chip
A square chip means a square component or similar one such as 1005 (width of 1.0 mm
× height of 0.5 mm) and 1608 (width of 1.6 mm × height of 0.8 mm). Square chips
include different types such as resistance and capacitor.
