REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES
Level Sensor
Replacement
1. Isolate the printer from the pneumatic supply and lockout the mains electri-
cal isolator.
2. Open the printhead cover.
3. If fitted, remove the stencil.
4. Pull the camera carriage to the front of the printer.
5. Remove the two M2.5 x8 countersunk head screws, which secure the cover.
6. Remove the cover.
7. Remove the syringe assembly so that it is out of the way.
8. Remove the two M3 x 16 cap head screws that fasten the sensor to the
mounting plate.
9. Remove the sensor.
10. Unscrew the connector from the sensor body.
11. Reconnect the replacement sensor and refit it to the mounting plate.
12. Refit the syringe assembly.
13. Load the stencil.
14. Close the printhead cover.
15. Reconnect the printer to the pneumatic supply and unlock the mains elec-
trical isolator.
16. Switch the mains isolator ON.
17. When requested, press the System button.
18. Run a test product to check functionality.

CALIBRATIONS
Creating a
Calibration Test
Product
A calibration test product is a useful tool to have and can be created using a
blank board. The checklist for the test product should include positional accu-
racy tests and deposit consistency checks.
Running a test product pre-production exercises the system and eliminates any
minor discrepancies that may occur due to the physical properties involved in
the process.
An example of a test product is shown below, it should be representative of a
production board.
Select Maintenance \ Test Cycles to turn Data Logging ON. Turning data
logging on allows the user to monitor the height of readings taken at the top
surface of the product. The centre and four outside test points give global board
topography, however, a localised view requires device level measurement.
Fiducials NOTE
Moving fiducial locations, during product run, may affect the location of sites. If
2Di or HawkEye are used in conjunction with Stinger; moving sites results in a
new pre-image being taken. In this instance, a screen clean should be per-
formed to ensure good pre-image quality. Site corrections do not need to be
applied if fiducial locations are moved during setup.

Site Correction If the fiducials have been moved, during a production run, the locations of sites
are affected. An information pane as shown below is displayed:
Stinger Heights
(Manual)
This procedure relates to units that:
• Have had a hardware change
• Are being set up for the first time
• Have undergone a product changeover
The height calibrations are a reference for all programmed deposits. For
calibration units, two heights are set: Contact Height and Idle Height. Idle height
tracks the contact height automatically.
The Z-Axis contact position, for any product, must be within (+/-1mm) of the
calibrated contact position. If the contact position cannot be guaranteed to be
within these limits, there is a likelihood that a variation in dot size may occur and
deposit quality degraded.
Locating the Correct
Point for Height
Settings
Product is not always rectangular in shape and completely plane surfaced.
There are often features such as protruding edges and gaps in various places
across the product. Users must be aware of where to place the height setting
points. The unit performs two distinct checks in one action, they are:
Contact Height
Range Checking
The unit defaults to the centre of the board for its height setting coordinates
(shown in white outline below). This may not be an appropriate location as the
product may have features that do not allow for both the nozzle, and the laser
