9.2.8 New Feeder Types
SIPLACE Pro supports the new feeder types that are described in the following sections.
9.2.8.1 Multiple JEDEC Tray Feeder
The new Multiple JEDEC Tray Feeder is supported on the SX1/SX2 V2 and the SIPLACE X-
series S placement machines. This feeder resembles the "Traystack Feeder AX" feeder and
supports additionally:
– Different component types within one feeder
– 14 or 18 waffle-pack trays per cassette
– Retrofitting of the entire cassette
On the SIPLACE X-series S placement machines the Multiple JEDEC Tray Feeder is set up on the
manual MTF 40 X component table.
On the SX1/SX2 V2 placement machine the feeder is set up on the special MTF 60 X table in the
WPC feed device.
In SIPLACE Pro there are two feeder types for this feeder:

Table 9-2: Feeder types Multiple JEDEC Tray Feeder
The feeder type with 14 levels per cassette is provided to transport tall components. There is no
difference between the feeder types with 14 or 18 levels per cassette in the station software, the
full capacity with 18 levels per cassette is always assumed. At the station Multiple JEDEC Tray
Feeder is displayed as feeder type for both types.
NOTICE
It is not intended to omit any levels for tall components. Instead, the different cassette
types shall be used.
9.2.8.2 JEDEC Tray Stack Feeder
The new Multiple JEDEC Tray Stack Feeder is supported on the SX1/SX2 V2 and the SIPLACE X-
series S placement machines. This feeder resembles the "Traystack Feeder AX" feeder but is
equipped with a longer feed axis.
The JEDEC Tray Stack Feeder can be set up at the same positions as the Multiple JEDEC Tray
Feeder.

9.2.9 Changing Data without Running Empty
Previously, when data was changed in the setup, the machine always had to be run empty even if
the setup was only slightly changed. I.e., in case that all placement positions could be placed by
the same heads in spite of the changes in setup, components or component shapes.
For such small product changes, the machine does not have to run empty when the setup is
downloaded to the station.
First, the feature has to be enabled on the SIPLACE Pro Line Control GUI.
Figure 9-4: Changes valid for current board
Depending on the changes in the setup the changes will be effective immediately (= without
running empty) or for the next board (= running empty).
The following table shows an overview over the changes and the respective behavior at the station
(alphabetically sorted by the SIPLACE Pro Editors, in which the change will be set).
