6.3 Support of Station Software 704
SIPLACE Pro 8.0 supports station software 704 for the following machine types:
● X series: X2, X3, X4 and X4i
● SX series: SX1, SX2 and SX4
NOTICE
On stations with station software 704 onward the manual width adjustment is not
possible. Only the automatic width adjustment is supported.
The following features are supported from this station software version onward:
● "Long PCB" (for all machines of the SX series except the SX4).
● "Heavy PCB" (for all machines of the SX series).
● PCB barcode operating mode (for all X / SX machines from 704).
● Tape feeder data (pitch, pickup angle, PickupPosition (PuP) and speed) are now, by default,
uploaded by the station and saved in the SIPLACE Pro setup. This function can only be
switched off by privileged users.
After the upload the waiting time is recalculated by SIPLACE Pro.
The upgrade tool for component shapes and fiducials was enhanced by data reconciliation
options for taking over the tape feeder data of the setup into the component and/or component
shape data. Thus, component and/or component shape data can also be taken over into
setups.
● Machines with station software version 704 that are standing in direct succession within the line
can hand over individual PCB data without the need for an own PCB barcode reader. This
functionality includes:
● Broken PCBs are transported to the end of the line where they can be removed by the user
(at stations of the SX family).
● Station software version 704 offers Whispering of Ink spots within the machine (WDTM)
and via the line (WDTL).
● You can use the new "end of a SIPLACE station cluster" property in the line editor e.g. for
describing an AOI, an additional conveyor system or a repair place between two stations.
Thus, you switch off handing over individual PCB data.
With the aid of an additional PCB barcode reader, individual PCB data can be handed over
beyond SIPLACE station cluster limits.
In the graphical line view within the line editor of the desk the SIPLACE station clusters are
represented by a horizontal connector:

6.4 New Optimization Features
Placement Modes Right Alternating / Left Alternating (Borrow Capacity)
You can use the asynchronous double conveyor operating mode "Right Alternating" for the
machine types: X4, X4i, SX2 and SX4. By means of optimization you use both placement heads of
a working area exclusively for assembling a product on the right conveyor (viewed in transport
direction of the station). The product on the opposite left conveyor is passed through.
"Left Alternating" is the analog function for the left conveyor side.
Optimize for Both Lanes (I Placement Mode)
The "Optimize for both lanes" option in the recipe editor supports assembling the same PCB on
both conveyor lanes within a line in the I placement mode.
As an alternative to I placement you can also use virtual I placement. The I placement mode is not
necessary for the whole line. The option can be combined with single stations with a synchronous
double conveyor or a single or flexible conveyor.
Identical Nozzle Changer Configuration
In SiCluster Professional it is optionally possible to create an identical nozzle changer configuration
for all setups. In the previous version this was only possible for constant tables using the runtime
intensive option for re-optimizing constant tables.
Dividing Tables Into Two Areas (Split Table Mode)
The Split Table mode is a setup concept for feeder change. In this mode, no changeover tables but
the single feeders are changed during placement at the line, when a setup change takes place.
While the next setup is arranged at one half of the table, placement goes on with the setup on the
other half of the table. If the next setup already has been completely arranged, a line downtime
during the setup change is prevented until the first recipe of the new setup shall be produced.
For the X2 and SX1 machine types the Single Side mode is offered, with which the setup can be
completely arranged on the left or on the right side of the line. During production the components
are only picked up from one side, while the next setup is prepared on the other side of the line.
With this setup concept fewer feeders are needed as with the setup concept with two changeover
table sets that needs a sufficient amount of feeders for the two changeover table sets. This setup
concept allows a flexible handling of rush jobs in the production. The component setup for the rush
job can simply be arranged on the free location, without having to tear down the current setup at
the line.
Restriction:
The Split Table mode reduces the available location capacity for a setup. If family setups are used,
fewer products can be united to a family setup because of the Split Table mode. Thus, the Split
Table mode cannot be used for complex products that require the complete location capacity of the
line.
