6.4 Waffle pack changer (WPC5/WPC6)
The functionality and the technical data for the WPC5 are largely identical to those for the WPC6.
However, the WPC6 also has a non-stop module.
6.4.1 Description
The waffle pack changer makes components available in the waffle pack trays, to avoid unneces-
sary loss of time during storage and automatic changing of the waffle pack trays. The individual,
programmable access to up to 28 waffle pack trays also increases the range of components avail-
able.
The waffle pack changer has an integral chassis, and is easy to move to other locations. It is sup-
plied with the PCB conveyor height set for the customer-specific placement machine but can be
quickly and easily adapted to conveyor heights of 900, 930, and 950 mm. The changeover table
with 30 locations needs to be set up on the remaining location.

6.4.4.1 Operation, maintenance, service
For detailed documentation of the operation, maintenance and servicing of the waffle pack
changer, refer to the manuals supplied with your waffle pack changer.
WARNING
Risk of injuries!
Risk of injuries at the waffle pack changer when the placement machine is running.
Do not reach into the gaps between the waffle pack changer and the machine base
while the placement machine is running.
WARNING
Requirement for operation: Docking the waffle pack changer onto the placement ma-
chine!
The waffle pack changer may NOT be operated unless it is docked onto the placement
machine.
Only connect/disconnect the control cable for the waffle pack changer to/from the
connection socket when the waffle pack changer is docked onto the placement ma-
chine.
Only connect/disconnect the power supply cable to/from the external power supply if
the waffle pack changer is docked onto the placement machine.
PLEASE NOTE
Observe the order of switching on
If there are two waffle pack changers installed at one placement machine, observe the
order of switching on. If this is not observed, errors could occur (e.g. CAN switch error).
Always switch the waffle pack changer on before the SIPLACE placement machine.
In the event of an error, switch the waffle pack changer and the SIPLACE placement
machine off and then switch them back on again in the right order. Observe the re-
quired waiting periods.
