4.5 File Display User Interface
The user interface enables the operator to view the contents of different types of files. The following types of
files can be selected from:
- Error files (.error)
- Log files (.log)
- Line configuration lists (.mf)
4.5.1 Starting the File Display
The operator can start the File Display function either via the menu "FILE" on the desktop menu bar, or via Data
Manager by selecting a data partner (Job data, Master data).
Moreover, the File Display can be opened for viewing given error files, via the menus of the "Job Control" (see
chapt. 14) and "Optimization Dialog" (see chapt. 11) application programs.
Starting the File Display option via the Data Manager, with an error file in the "Job data/Losplanung"
directory serving as an example:
● Click on FILE -> Data Manager on the desktop menu bar.
The main window of the Data Manager is opened (see Fig. 4.3.1).
● Select icon (or text) Job data by double-clicking.
The main window of the data partner "Job Data" is opened (see section 4.3).
● Activate Default button in the command area of the main window.
● Successively select Losplanung, xx.lose by double-clicking.
● Select .error file (if available) by double-clicking.
The main window of the File Display containing the contents of the error file ".error" is opened.
Starting the File Display option via the Data Manager, with the line configuration list for the overall line
serving as an example:
● Click on FILE -> Data Manager on the desktop menu bar.
The main window of the Data Manager is opened (see Fig. 4.3.1).
● Select icon (or text) Master data by double-clicking.
The main window of the "Master data" is opened (see Fig. 4.3.2).
● Activate Default button in the command area of the main window.
● Successively select Anlagen, SMT.ak, .ra and .mf by double-clicking.
The main window of the File Display containing the contents of the line configuration list ".mf"
is opened (see Fig. 4.5.2).

Starting the File Display option via the desktop, with an error file in the "master data:Leiterplatten/..."
directory serving as an example:
● Click on FILE -> File contents on the desktop menu bar.
The following FSB for the selection of the path (directory) in which the error file is located is
opened:
NOTE
If the File Display had previously been opened and the current state (data type) been saved under
"OPTIONS --> Save state", (see section 4.5.2.2), the FSB is opened with the file filter previously
saved.
● Select directory master data: Leiterplatten by double-clicking.
The PCBs contained in the directory are displayed.
● Successively select PCB *xx.la, *.ad, *SMT.AK, *Linie.VA and *xx.AR by double-clicking (or
else by clicking once and confirming the selection with OK in each case).
If available, an error file ".error" is now displayed in the FSB.

● Select error file .error by double-clicking.
The main window of the File Display containing the contents of the error file ".error" is opened.
The status bar of the main window displays the complete directory path in which the error file is
located (see Fig. 4.5.1).
NOTE
All error messages and warnings that occurred during a producibility check (machine-, set-up- and cluster
compile) are logged to the "all.error" file. The main window of the File Display containing the contents of said
file can be opened directly via the Job Control user interface (see chapt. 14, section 14.2.3.2), thus making a
search of the directory structure containing the error file unnecessary.
