6 Troubleshooting
6.1 Overview
This section describes typical FlexTRAK-OH process alarm conditions that can occur during system
operation and provides troubleshooting tips for their correction.
This section contains the following topics:
• Alarm and Recovery
6.2 Safety First
Operation of your FlexTRAK-OH Material Handler involves mechanical devices, air pressure, and
electrical power. It is essential that every person servicing or operating the FlexTRAK-OH fully
understands all hazards, risks, and safety precautions. When properly operated and maintained, the
FlexTRAK-OH Material Handler should be safe and reliable. Refer to Section 2 - Safety prior to
troubleshooting
.

1 Guard door open
Sliding door sensor
a) Close all sliding doors (both the slide door sensor and
switch are in contact range).
b) Check sensor and switch is present. Ensure the
orientation and location is correct.
c) Check sensor condition by observing the physical
damage and IO indicator status.
RESET button
Press RESET button twice to acknowledge the alarm and
allow the process to restart.
Safety relay Check device condition.

Faulty part under
monitoring
Check and rectify occurred problem or jammed part.
RESET button
Press RESET button to acknowledge the message and
continue paused production process sequences.

Main air pressure is
low
Main incoming air
line
a) Check main air supplied valve is available (compressor is
running).
b) Ensure isolation valve is open.
Air service unit
a) Ensure isolation knob is open/fully open.
b) Ensure pressure sensor value shown with the required
pressure level.
c) Ensure the soft-start valve is operated normally (wiring
socket is connected).
d) Ensure no contamination (dust, rust, tear and wear, etc.)
are present along with the air preparation unit.
Air tubing
Ensure no air leak or air tubing is critically kink along with
the affected tubing tag.

EMO button Released all pressed EMO button.
RESET button
Press RESET button twice to acknowledge alarm and allow
the process to restart.
Safety relay Check device condition.
5
Plasma machine not
ready
Plasma unit
Check and rectify error code triggered by the plasma unit at
the plasma HMI screen.
6 PLC error PLC CPU unit
a) Check the error code triggered by the PLC CPU unit
display.
b) Check the CPU model number.
c) Refer to the PLC CPU unit manufacturer manual for
further recovery steps.

Untreated magazine
loading: overhead
conveyor
a) Identify overhead conveyor at the magazine
loading area.
b) Ensure magazine is loaded and conveyor is
moving magazine until reach magazine present
sensor.
Conveyor assembly
functionality
a) Ensure conveyor move smoothly.
b) Check any slacking belt if the conveyor
movement is abnormal.
c) Check for motor overheating systems due to
overload or efficiency defects.
Sensor
a) The sensor should trigger output when it
detects the object under its sensing area.
b) Check the sensor sensing area, location,
orientation, and gap distance for any inaccurate
alignment issues.
c) Check the sensor surface for any foreign debris
or liquid, or damage.
d) Check voltage or amperage status along the
wire to the related sensor.
e) If power is supplied, check the sensor output
signal by placing a metal surface close to the
sensing surface.
f) If power is supplied, but no output signal from
the sensor, contact March for assistance.
g) If no power is supplied, contact March for
assistance.

Jammed magazine or
strip
a) Identify any jammed parts.
b) Ensure the required magazine is loaded
smoothly.
c) Ensure the magazine position inside the gripper
is firm.
Jammed part
a) The sensor should trigger output when it
detects the object under its sensing area.
b) Example of jammed parts: pneumatic cylinder
rod position extends or retracts.
c) If the cylinder does not successfully
extend/retract to its designated position, the
flag will not trigger the sensor output when
required by the PLC logic. This will trigger a
sensor TIME OUT! error when the affected
sensor response time ends.
d) Identify any jammed/loosen mechanisms that
cause the cylinder rod positioning fault. Clear or
rectify the faulty area.
