6. Starting, Emergency Stop, and Temporary Stop (Pause) Operations for Automatic Operation (“PLACE” Mode)
6.7 Emergency Stop
6.7.1 Cause and Symptom of Emergency Stop
(1) Cause
The machine stops immediately when the [EMERGENCY STOP] but-
ton is pressed.
The machine stops immediately when the maintenance cover is opened.
The machine stops immediately when the supplied air pressure drops.
The machine stops immediately when a circuit breaker (circuit breaker
used for P.C.B. positioning, the vacuum pump, the control DC power
supply, etc.) related to the system and placement is shut off.
The machine stops immediately when the power for the communica-
tion line (remote I/O) is not supplied.
(2) Symptom
The [POWER ON] button (-HD50) turns red, indicating that the power
for the loads is shut off.
(When the circuit breaker is shut off, the LED of the [POWER ON]
button (-HD50) may extinguish without turning red.
6.7.2 Reset and Start Procedure from Emergency Stop
(1) Before pressing the [POWER ON] button to re-supply power to the ma-
chine, check and remove the cause of emergency stop and re-check each
section.
Checking the Condition of Each Individual Device
Taking Remedial Measures against Picked Components
Check for fallen components and remove them.
CAUTION
When a component has fallen into the compo-
nent recognition camera section, be sure to
remove it.
Otherwise, a recognition error will occur after
the machine is powered up again.
Check tape feeders.
When a component to be picked up still remains in the cavity of the
tape, remove it from the cavity.
Set the P.C.B. under transfer at the correct position.
Check the air pressure.
Others
(2) Check that the maintenance cover, the supply cover, and the safety bar
are closed.

6. Starting, Emergency Stop, and Temporary Stop (Pause) Operations for Automatic Operation (“PLACE” Mode)
(3) Press the [POWER ON] button to re-supply power to the machine.
Press and hold the [POWER ON] button for a few seconds.
The LED of the [POWER ON] button (-HD50) illuminates in green,
indicating that power to the machine is supplied.
If the green LED does not illuminate (the LED stays in red), re-check
and remove the cause of the emergency stop.
After the [POWER ON] button is pressed, the self-diagnostics func-
tion works on the recognition unit for a few minutes and no operation
becomes available.
Wait until the “” mark appears before “RECOGNITION” in the “ORI-
GIN MONITOR” field at the “AUTO OPN. MODE <PLACE-
MENT>” display.
(4) After a “” mark has appeared before “RECOGNITION”, perform the
zeroing operation to zero each individual device.
(5) When there still remains an unfinished P.C.B., determine whether or not
the P.C.B. should be completed.
To continue the placement operation, open the “SEMI-AUTOMATIC
OPERATION” display and follow the required operation. (Hierarchical
Sequence: “AUTO OPN. MODE <PLACEMENT>” Display “AUTO
OPN. SUB-MENU” Display “SEMI-AUTOMATIC OPERATION”
Display)
Refer to “4. SEMI-AUTOMATIC OPERATION of Section 3” for
details.
6.8 Stop Operation
6.8.1 General Stop Procedure
Press the [STOP] button.
The LED of the [START] button (-HD01) extinguishes. After placing all
components on the P.C.B. in the middle of production process, each indi-
vidual device returns to its stationary position and the machine stops running.
The green tower light extinguishes.
6.8.2 Automatic Stop Procedure
Stop the input machine.
The machine processes all P.C.B.’s on the system line, discharges them, and
stops running automatically.
Notes: (a) It is assumed that “ENABLE” is set in the “AUTO STOP
MODE” data box at the “P.C.B. TRANSFER MODE SET-
UP” display. (Hierarchical Sequence: “DEVICE DATA”Display
“P.C.B. TRANSFER MODE SET-UP” Display)
(b) When a machine of another brand is connected to the system
line, this function may not work.
6.8.3 Emergency Stop Procedure
To stop the machine instantaneously in an emergency, press one of the
[EMERGENCY STOP] buttons.
Power to the loads is shut off and the machine stops running instantaneously.
Refer to “6.7.2 Reset and Start Procedure from Emergency Stop of Section
2” for details on how to reset the machine from emergency stop.

7. Starting, Emergency Stop, and Temporary Stop (Pause) Operations for Automatic Operation (“PASS” Mode)
7. Starting, Emergency Stop, and Temporary Stop
(Pause) Operations for Automatic Operation
(“PASS” Mode)
7.1 Usage
When “PASS” is set in the “PLACEMENT MODE” data box at the “OPERA-
TION DATA” display, the machine does not place any components on a P.C.B.
and passes the P.C.B. over to the output conveyor (Input Conveyor P.C.B.
Positioning Section Output Conveyor). (Hierarchical Sequence: “PATTERN
PROGRAM” Display “PATTERN PROGRAM EDIT” Display “OP-
ERATION DATA” Display)
7.2 Start Procedure
(1) Perform the following operations.
Preparation of Pattern Program
(Refer to “5.1 Preparation of Pattern Program of Section 2” for
details)
Refer to “5.2 Program Change Operation of Section 2” for details
When the production model is selected, the vacuum pump motor stops
automatically.
Pattern Program Checking for Production Model
(Refer to “5.3 Pattern Program Checking for Production Model of
Section 2” for details.)
“PASS” must be set in the “PLACEMENT MODE” data box at the
“OPERATION DATA” display in the pattern program.
(The highlighted [PASS/PLACE CHANGE] key in the “AUTO OPN.
SUB-MENU” display toggles off.)
Adjustment of P.C.B. Positioning Section (Ref.: “5.2.2 Adjustment of
P.C.B. Positioning Section of Section 2")
(2) Confirm that the maintenance covers (maintenance covers, supply
covers, safety bars) are closed.
(3) Set the [OPERATION/SET UP] switch to the “OPERATION” side and
remove the selection key from the machine.
(4) Confirm that the LEDs (-HD09) of the [READY] buttons on the front and
rear operation panels are “ON”.
Press the [READY] button to turn it on if necessary.
To set the opposite side ready for operation, select the [SIDE A] or the
[SIDE B] key (Only the opposite side can be selected. Press the [READY]
button in the case of the operation panel.) under the label “(FEEDER
CHANGE-OVER PREPARATION COMPLETE)” at the “AUTO OPN
SUB-MENU” display and press the [MOVE] button. (Hierarchical Se-
quence: “AUTO OPN. MODE (PLACEMENT)” Display “AUTO
